at fist sounds like the greatest deal ever for a 4 stars hotel, when you get there you realize that it is only a 2 stars standars, but having said that it is good value for money. very quite hotel away from crowd although the hotel is lited on the site as a 4 stars hotel, but it can never make it to 2, receiption is poor, lobby is tacky, brakfast costed them way less than 1 doller a person, rooms are ugly, beds are very dirty, no towels, when you ask for twoels they get you used wet ones, heating system is not efficent, isolated location. I have invited my parents there and occupied 2 rooms, the value for money was OK, the lobby is so dark and empty, breakfast is the poorest every a small plate of cheese and a cup of tea, rooms are noticably dirty, towels where a major problem, you can not get a big size one for the shower as they do not have it, the ones they have are not clean, staff does not wear uniform, TV is good, the area is surrounded with empty bulidings, nothing much to be seen from the balcony, room size is OK, not what you wish to see from a hotel classified as a 4 stars,no mini bar, no direct line for calling outside the hotel, maintinance people are not at hand, you need to call them to fix something in your room many times and they will only show the next day. I know I will not be staying there ever again.
Shopping Tip : 15 mintues walking distance you can reach to the dunes center where a lots of shops and Cenima is there, this is apperantly a very classy shopping center, all brands and very expensive stuff, I was shopping for a lap top bag and the cheepest I found was for 900$, but it may be nice to be visited especailly for the cenima, what is palying there is ahead the shows in Europe!
5 mintues walking distance and you are at the sea side, not a swimming area, just a high way with a pavement to walk near by the shore, you can have a peaceful walk in there.
security in the area is very good for a unstable city like beirut, this hotel is located near "future" newspaper, security forces surronds the buliding and there are couple of military sites around the hotel so you can notice heavy presence of army and police day and night, you may be stopeed on your way to or from the hotel especailly at night by police officals just to check your idea, nothing to warry about, they are very gentle, smiley and applogatic, they assure you they are doing it for your own safty, they give a lot of respect for forigners, they may even ask to give you an escort if you are not feeling compfortable walking through the lonely street near by the hotel at night.
