the rooms and facilities at the fairmont are well designed and comfortable. the pool and beach are were particular favourites. as most people staying here seem to be business travellers, it never got overcrowded. comfortable beds, great views, wonderful rain showers. a truly luxurious experience.be aware that there is the option to choose a la carte at breakfast, unless you ask it will naturally be assumed that you want the buffet breakfast which is alot dearer. and the a la carte portions are huge - try the bircher assemble it yourself muesli.
Restaurant Tip:
Lebanese Flower in downtown Abu Dhabi is thronged with locals and great for people watching. No license.
If you just want a cup of coffee turn right outside the hotel and walk for about 10 minutes to the Souq shopping mall where tehre is a Starbucks. There are also a range of creekside restaurants if you want to venture away from the hotel.

Treated like Kings

we stayed in other hotels which were the same price as the fairmont bab al bahr in dubai, and we have to say that the standards at the fairmont are way above the hotels in the same price range in dubai marina. the treatment we received, the room (and the view!), the facilities, the buffet breakfast (and its price compared to other buffets in dubai)... everything was top notch! the only regret was that we only had time for a one night stay. thank you fairmont bab al bahr for making it memorable. we will surely return!
Hotel Feature Tip:
spend a little extra and treat yourself to a river view room rather than a city view: the breathtaking views over the mosque are absolutely amazing!

I was here for Eid Al Adha Holiday and it seems the hotel was not geared up for the occasion. Anything you request from your room will take more time than anticipated. Housekeeping time was very poor.
Otherwise; the hotel is great, pool is good; beach is good.
