we had a comfortable stay & the service was good.the hotel is located on the corniche road and has spectacular views of emirates palace hotel, the marina mall & sea. there are many malls and shopping centres located within 10 kms radius of the hotel.

The hotel facilities are very good, excellent pool in the 3rd floor. The only negative point I would say is that food, drinks and dry cleaning are a big pricy, for example: 10 euros for a beer.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The sightseeing tour is very good, as it take you to the most attractive places in Abu Dhabi. Final tip, visit the Grand Mosque, it is impressive, in my personal opinion, is the most beatifull place to visit in the Gulf.

This is a very tired hotel but value for money compared to others is still ok. Gym is very old and hotel overall needs a serious makeover. The vibe is pretty poor overall but it serves it's purpose for those not spending too much time onsite.

Really good hotel for the price. The rooms are huge and fairly fresh - the hotel was renovated around 5 years ago. The restaurants and bars are really great here. Go to Chamas and you will not be disappointed with amazing meats on skewers! Mouth watering.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Ask for a city view room. They over look the corniche and park directly in front of the hotel. Very pretty!

Crisp New Property Lacking A Soul

The Intercontinental Abu Dhabi is a good-looking busy property. My room was crisp, smelt new & had an amazingly comfortable bed and an even better bath area. The property is made very stylishly & the architect should be given full marks for incorporating the Marina within the premises. The hotel has lovely restaurants and an impeccable F & B service. What really rankled me was when I ordered a bucket of ice in room-service, the room service executive reminded me that ice at the Intercontinental will be 10 Dirhams a bucket of Ice! I have stayed at properties all over the world and at other IC hotels, but had never been billed for ice! This is not good hospitality. Buildings and architecture don't make good hotels, staff and hospitality make good hotels! I am a member of their loyalty program and created a fuss at the time of checkout for this small bill so that some sleeping senior manager wakes up and revokes this sort of billing practice! I will never stay again at the IC Abu Dhabi!
Shopping Tip:
The Marina Mall is a short taxi ride away from the IC Abu Dhabi. This must easily be the most picturesque and wonderfully located mall in all of the UAE. I suppose all the major global brands are present in this Mall. They have a huge Carrefour & a nice Multiplex as well with shows running late into the night. The Hop On-Hop Off Tours begin from the Marina Mall. A must-visit tourist stop when in Abu Dhabi!

My son had an accident in the swimming pool because of a very sharp object inside the pool and they broke my luggage and one of the restaurants did not want to serve us (6 persons) a la carte .
