Amazing trad restaurant and entertainment

We had a lovely, relaxing stay - enjoyed the pool and evening outdoor restaurant with fantastic entertainment. A few more spotlights in the room would be helpful as very dark athough the room was great and the bathroom very quaint and functional. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows simply the best.

I brought my parents to this hotel and I believe they have enjoyed more than expected thanks to the good atmosphere and good service in Bab Al SHams. It took 45min. from Bur Dubai If you will take normal taxi it should costs around 150 AED or so.

Good Desert Getaway ~ But Standards Slippin

This is my second visit to Bab Al Shams and I must say that the service standards have slipped somewhat. My first time was excellent, with 5-star service all-round. I'm sad to say that this time around the staff lacked attentiveness and the special touch that I have come to expect from this establishment. The concierge seemed too busy to care, front desk was cumbersome and erroneous in information given, and the signature restaurant Al Hadheerah was short of accommodating towards simple requests. To be fair though, our visit was on the 31st Dec during the busiest of times.
Restaurant Tip:
Book your tables for dinner well before arrival. Unfortunately Al Hadheerah tables are first-come-first-serve basis even after booking, but this does not mean that the earliest will get the best tables as you are usually ushered in to the tables without freedom of choice, especially during busy times.

We just went for one night but it should have been more as the atmosphere of the place took hold of us and made departure very difficult. Definitely a place for relaxation with its myriad of little places to sit quietly and read or just talk to your partner. we were celebrating our Ruby wedding Anniversary so it gave us that opportunity to enjoy our time together. The staff were very helpful and thoughtful and were even more so when they discovered our reason for being there, going the extra sand-dune to make our stay special. With lots of activities for those so inclined to take part, this is not just a 'couples' hotel but the presence of children enjoying themselves wasn't detraction for those who wanted to be quiet. Sitting at the rooftop bar to watch the sun set was a particularly attractive feature, as was the sunken firepit around which you could just sit and relax into the night, while watching the stars overhead. Our room was well designed with all amenities and the bed was just so so comfortable
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You are probably a good 30 minutes drive to civilisation so this is a place to retire to for relaxation rather than being a sightseeing base.

I could not fault the environment, the service or the features of this resort located about 45 minutes transfer from Dubai airport.
A day spent by the pool, enjoying a camel ride, eating well was a total enjoyment which was further improved by the attentiveness of the staff.
It was the small touches - the filled dates at turndown - and the sense of privacy that made this experience truly an oasis in the desert.
Nightlife Tip:
Relax with a sheesha and tea in the rooftop lounge whilst enjoying the still night air

Beautiful hotel with great facilities

we stayed here for days....the room was very spacious with a gorgeous bathroom and even a small patio area. check in was very quick. we had buffet breakfast in al fursan both days and the selection was more than adequate. one of the evenings we spent time in the moon bar, and the weather at this time of the year is perfect to it there. the service was a little slow there but the food was good once it arrived,
i would definitely stay there again.
