Good hotel located in the center of Dubai, close to little India. Accross the street you will find a small supermarket which is open 24 hours per day. There are 12 buildings of the Golden Sand complex and only 2 buildings are a hotel/appartment complex. Our taxi driver brought us to Golden Sand 10. We needed to take a new taxi to bring us to building 5. Walking with suitcases with 35 degree Celsius is not recommendable. The Agoda Hotel Voucher does not make any reference to which building the booking relates!!
Check out in advance!!!

Spacious room. We found the washing machine and pantry useful.
Staff is not very friendly. Restaurant food is not good.
Spacious hotel apartment and practical for business traveller as it comes with internet in room. Acceptable service and price considering we managed at a great rate when some places are charging way above that for similar or even worse rooms. Need taxi to get around.

The large room was excellently appointed with a huge king size bed, small kitchen and a safe. The staff were friendly and efficient and the roof top pool a great place to cool down after the heat of the day.
It is a little off putting to see so may buildings close together all looking exactly the same.
I was unaware when I booked that there are eleven Golden Sands Holiday Apartments. I had an interesting conversation with the cab driver who refused to take me until I told him which number Golden Sands Holiday Apartments that I was in. Eventually I persuaded him to drive me the highest number, number 11. There I found out that I had been placed in number 5. Dinner was very late that night but it was very good in the hotel's restaurant which is located next door in number 3. All a bit tedious but it works when you know the system.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Big Bus Tour gave me a good view of the city of Dubai which what I went there to see. To be frank it is at the lower end of Big Bus Tours that I have done. It is more expensive than most and the use of tapes eliminates the oportunity to ask questions.

Big Room, near to airport
Further away from the happening parts of Dubai like the Jamiera Beach and Souk area and Dubai Mall, but Dubai is pretty small so its not that big a deal.
Nice big room, good tv set, the hotel is near the airport (about 5-10mins drive), but a bit further away from the happening parts of Dubai i.e. Dubai Mall, Jamiera Beach etc... but its only about 20 mins in a cab to these places from the hotel. Staff were freindly enough. Its very good value for money. I would stay there again.

It was nice to have a two room suite at a reasonable rate as we were traveling with an older person who didn't want to stay in a room by herself. Also, the breakfast room was conveniently located near our room. Nice pool area. Not too far to walk for shopping and get the Big Red Bus Tour. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a no thrills type hotel. We would stay here again if ever in Dubai.
Shopping Tip : Near this hotel was a very nice shopping market. Can pick up items to have in your room for snacks or breakfast (also other meals).

Price, good location, good quality room.
Our stay for 2 nights in the golden sands was good. Because ramadam had just kicked in when we stayed in dubai, the hotel price was very cheap yet the hotel room still offered everything we needed. We were able to order takeaway via the room telephone after sunset which came right to our door. The room came with an iron and ironing board which you don't always get- just incase you need to sort that dancing gear out!!
Nightlife Tip : Take a look at the buddah bar down near the marina. Its class!!

free fast internet in the room, better signal on the TV channels.
the hotel is very nice, very clean with a friendly staff,it's in a good location in Dubai with taxi service avelable infront of the hotel 24 hours a day, no clubs inside what makes it quit and relaxing, there is a litle kitchen in every room you can prepare meals for yourselve, but when others do it the hallways smell on spicy arabic food, the swiming pool is small on the roof it doesnt atrack to me many guests during the day so its ok to spend some time there, in august it's to hot for laying in the sun in Dubai. Overall I did't spent to much time in the hotel Dubai is a great city that offers so much to you but this hotel was my resting point, thank you very much Agoda
Shopping Tip : 10 minits from City Center with taxi, nice things for low prices

Big one Bedroom Apartment fully furnished including washing mashine, big fridge, cutlery and cooking facilities
good value for money
The AC did not work which is very bad for Dubai
The shower only had very hot water
The service was bad, the coffee shop refused to provide even one glass & fork after the ones in the room were dirty and there was no detergent to wash them.
Very Very Very noisy, i was constantly woken up by kids running around the hallways and screaming at 5-6 a.m.!! Too many families with small kids and no sound isolation between rooms.
No internet in room.
Staff is unfriendly.
you only get one bottle of complimentary water for the entire stay, else you will have to pay 10dirhams
room service charges almost as much as the meridien hotel but much lower quality
tiny business centre
Its a good place to stay in the sense that they offer big rooms and the opportunity to have your own cooking facilities.
I would recommend it since it is cheap for Dubai, but it does have it's negatives as well, as stated above. The rooms themselves don't have a good atmosphere... especially since the A/C and Shower did not work properly.
Its also a place where a lot of families with kids go, so that can be quite disturbing.
The Hotel Apartments are located in Golden Sands 3, as there are at least 10 Golden Sands in the Area (the others are proper apartments)

Room was clean, included kitchen, living room areas in a large studio
Very good value for money
Gym, pool, and free wifi in coffee shop
There were roughly 10 different Golden Sands buildings in the Bur area - it was hard to know which one I was supposed to go to.
I enjoyed staying in Golden Sands. It was a very good value for the money. I stayed in a studio that had a kitchen, living room area, and bedroom/bathroom. It was clean, and all the furniture/appliances new and worked. There was free wifi in the coffeeshop, and a gym and pool. Only downside was that since the address of the hotel was not included on the voucher, I had a difficult time locating the hotel coming from the airport with the taxi driver. It turns out there was about 10 Golden Sands buildings in the same neighborhood, and I had no idea for which one I had a reservation.
Shopping Tip : Hotel is not far from downtown area, also not too far from Emirates mall. There is a small grocery shop down the street open at all hours. Food can be bought and prepared in the room kitchen.

spacious and clean room, kind staffs, taxi availability for 24 hours without calling...
The hotel has a good location from which you can easily get to Dubai museum, Dubail Creek, Gold Souk and some other traditional Souks, etc. I stayed at a standard room which has king size bed and is spacious and clean, and made me feel I was in a suite room. I did not use it but there is a large flat tv. I also enjoyed to use kitchen utensils. Staffs are very kind and I could check-in at 8am even though officially check-in is 2pm. If I go to Dubai again, I definitely would like to stay there.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can get to Dubai Museum and Dubai Creek on foot. Around museum there are traditional markets where you can get gold, jewelry, cloth...

1. Price.
2. Location.
3. Decent rooms.
4. Taxi available 24 hours.
1. No Internet in the rooms.
The Golden Sands is a great place to stay. I highly recommend it. Make sure before you come that you email the Golden Sands asking what building you are staying, they have at least 10 different building. This will save some time after a long flight that you just want to go to bed.
The internet is only available in the Coffee shop. It is fast until many people are connected (after 10:30 am), it becomes slower at that time. The breakfast at the Coffee Shop is 50 Dirhams (Approx $15 US) which is slightly overpriced for what they offer. However, I was using the internet so it is worth it for the comfort.
I recommend you take the 2 day Big Bus tour (280 Dirhams). It is well worth it and it is cheaper than doing it on your own. The 1 day is NOT enough, trust me.
The room is comfortable, it comes with a kitchen, fridge, washer, TV, etc. Evrything you need.
I will definitely stay there again when I come back to Dubai.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the Big Bus tour for 2 days. The 24 hour option is not enogh if you want to see everything. The tour starts at 9am and ends at 5pm, so it is very tight (Bus runs every 30 min).
