Holiday Inn Downtown DubaiThis is a Holiday Inn property and located downtown convenient to the malls and business district. The airport is only about 3 miles down the road, but then everything in Dubai downtown is close to the airport. There are 139 rooms in this seven story building and all have standard amenities including minibar, work desk, newspapers, etc. There is a swimming pool onsite and a basic gym. The Billabong bar is an attractive place for a drink. As for the tours, most are not that interesting with the exception of the Waddy Bashing 4x4 trip, which is great fun apparently.

comfortable
very friendly staff, early check in, clean room and comfortable bed

it was very pleasent. I arrived early and the staff let me check in early so i could rest as I arrived early in the morning.
Staff was helpful in showing me a map and surrounding area
*it could have been better as my reservation included breakfast but I left at 6am. They could not prepare a breakfast box for me because they needed advance notice.

Very expensive whereby with that kind of room rate, you can get a better room in a nice hotel near Jumeira Beach.

Took over 30 minutes to check in and even longer to checkout although I told them that I needed to leave early in morning.

NORTH (From Sharjah) Following signs Al Maktoum bridge heading to Deira , turn right at hyundai car garage signs to Al Murraqqabat and straight ahead till next lights then again straight on at these lights. Second set of lights turn left by Sedar curtains shop, hotel is on right hand side.
SOUTH (From Abu Dhabi) From Al Maktoum bridge heading to Deira, follow signs to Abu Hail Corniche, 3rd lane pass through the tunnel on the right side under the Clock Tower roundabout, and then turn left at the first traffic lights signs to Al Murraqqabat. Second set of lights turn left by Sedar curtains shop, hotel is on right hand side.
EAST (From Airport) Pass the DNATA building go straight ahead till Clock Tower roundabout and turn right signs to Abu Hail Corniche, then left at the first traffic lights signs to Al Murraqqabat. Second set of lights turn left by Sedar curtains shop, hotel is on right hand side.
