we had no problems checking in or out. staff were helpful and nice throughout. the hotel is in a decent location and has a number of excellent restaurants and a decent bar. all in all, it represented value for money. the only slight disappointment was the room itself. it was very standard and not that different from what you would find at regular 4 star hotels.
Restaurant Tip:
Visit the hotel restaurants rather than traveling to eat elsewhere.

For excellent Italian food I can recommend Pregos in the Media Rotana and afternoons on the Terrace for Happy Hour to just chill-out

we stayed there for 5 nights during new year, we requested a nonsmoking room when booking, and this was not organised at the start, however they helped to changed to an nonsmoking room and much higher floor after we reported to the reception. on average it was nice stay.

a couple with an enfant spent 3 days in the hotel.
easy to access via cars, near to major road, 10 mins walk to the subway.
20km from downtown, better to have a car; In a newly built district Tecom city, not populated at all, isolated, no night life at all; except the restaurants in the hotel no other restaurants nearby; only a small shop to buy some snack
relatively close to Dubai Marine, Jumeirah, Madinat and Mall of Emrates.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Better to lodge here for business trip in Tecome instead of tourism.

Great hotel and value for money

Agoda got me a much better price than when I tried to book direct. The room exceeded my expectations. Obviously someone had designed it properly.
Location is a bit out of the way but taxis are so cheap it is worth the slight inconvenience when the room rate is much less than more conveniently placed hotels.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't use the Dubai metro on a Thursday or Friday night unless you like the feeling of being a sardine in a can!
