Lovely hotel with great customer service

The customer service at this hotel is excellent. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel room itself is not too bad - it was clean, fresh and the beds were comfortable. Plenty of space to move about in the room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We arrived at this hotel at 12am in the morning and checked out at 2pm in the arvo. We didn't get to use the facilities because of our limited time, nor did we wander out to see what was available around the hotel. But I think the location is pretty good - it's close to Dubai Mall and Burj Al Khalifah (20 dirham by taxi).
One more tip - use the spa treatment facility - it's pretty cheap (80 dirham for one hour massage).

Having so much annoyances from the staff. The mini bar was locked, called room service twice to ask them to open the mini bar so that i can get some refreshments with no one come to open the mini bar. Called the receptionist twice and they keep on saying already sent someone to my room. It took 45 minutes just to have someone to come over and unlock the minibar. After they unlocked it, it seems that the minibar was locked for quite long time since they took cloth to clean the snacks and the fridge itself. totally disappointed.

A bit dated and very musty

we enjoyed the staff and the location of this hotel - just a short taxi or shuttle drive away form the dubai mall. upon checking in, the second the elevator door opened to our floor(11) we were greeted with a very strong mold.musty smell. when we contacted the desk we were moved to a new room and floor - it helped, but still felt damp. it is a very difficult time of year in dubai, but we have stayed at many hotels and did not have the same problem.

I was staying at the Novotel to be close to the convention centre for a concert and it turns out there is a corridor between the two which was welcome due to the summer heat. I was impressed because I got exactly what I paid for and sometimes this is not always the case.

Rooms are getting shabby. Carpets and furnishings require renewal.One bottle of Complimentary water for two people in a very hot country is not acceptable. Only one pillow per person.
