Location, location, location! Close to the Gold Souk, the Fruit, Fish and Vegetable Market, a bus terminal, and station 6 on the Hop-on-Hop-off Bus Tour. Quiet on the courtyard side where I was located. Front desk staff helpful.
Room not very clean and toilet was difficult to flush.
The convenient location to the Gold Souk, shopping, and the Dubai Creek was great. It was surprisingly quiet (at least in a room facing the courtyard) and breakfast was modest but provided a solid start to a full day of shopping and sightseeing. One can take a bus from the Al Sabkha bus station for 2 dhiram all the way to the airport. Housekeeping tidied the room but the room was not terribly clean. Overall, good value for the money.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The hop-on-and-off bus tour stop 6 is a short 7 or 8 minute walk away. The Al Sabkha bus station is 7 or 8 minutes in the other direction and for 2 dhiram, takes you all the way to the airport.

It is very cheap and close to every point of interest.
Market,
Walking street,
Shopping center.
Then we wanted to stay more and hotel suggested staying on special price
We arrived and staff was very friendly, helpful all the time.
Everything was ready to meet us.
Room was clean. We asked the staff how we can get to market or to the see we got all the explanation. We can recommend other people to stay there. Good luck. All the best. Thanks Agoda for good service too.

Not directly facing the main street. See left side when coming up from the riverside.
Restaurant Tip : Good Japanese restaurant at Ascot hotel on the other side of the river after taking a mini boat.

This hotel I believe is of international standard, and has the potential of becoming 4 star. The obvious lack of international standards in hospitality and hotel operation is holding Unico back. This is my second stay, which says a lot in my book. Rooms can be noisy, between the A/C and the fridge and the guest next door who decides the stereo needs testing at 2 am. Dirty fingerprints on the ceiling by the A/C vent. Poor quality bath towels. Investing in your staff’s ongoing training in English would be a major advantage to the hotel, it’s one thing to speak English but it is another to comprehend what is being communicated, this lack of comprehension lead to my laundry not being cleaned. Overall a good hotel to stay at and will return.

very good location in the heart of Dubai. Near Bazaar, Gold Souk and Spice Market, Parfumerien. Nevertheless had a quiet room. Friendly and helpful staff.
Indoor pool is small and more next to the restaurant. no lying. Was sunbathing and swimming on the sea. Breakfast buffet a little small but ok.
The location provides good value for money. Rooms rather small, but clean, very accessible to many shops and gold market on foot in 5 minutes. Bus Station nearby. Be sure to come back happy.
Shopping Tip : In the Naif Road, Near hotel there is the best known perfume. Action is needed. If you travel with Abra on the Creek is getting out just left a shop, the cheap pashminas, table cloths, etc. offers. little further an optical shop. Glasses, contact lenses, etc. are also much cheaper in Dubai than in Europe.

dark and dingy rooms, shower totally rotten, no hot water, no minibar
This hotel was an imposition! The room was dark and dingy, the mini bar is empty and auper operation. In the shower, the shower tray was completely rotten, hot water was not working. Also the breakfast was terrible - very little choice, indefinable instant coffee, only serving jam, no cheese, no meat, ugly breakfast room. For the equivalent completely overpriced!

Well you always get a taxi
I got this hotel at a discounted price and was very happy. The room was spacious. The bathroom, with its very oriental tiles, is rather worn. By taxi, the major attractions are located in the vicinity. It can also be booked trips. If you get to the hotel for a good special, it is highly recommended. The regular price is too high
