TV is big. Bar downstairs isn't crowded
Unfriendly and inefficient staff at check in. Small rooms. TV reception is bad on most channels. Room wasn't cleaned. Both guests must check in at the same time.
I got off to a very bad start at checkin, which probably colors my impression all the way through, but this hotel didn't fail to disappoint at every turn. First I was told that my girlfriend had to be with me when I checked in. I was visiting from Abu Dhabi and she was out with friends. When I got back with her, my lock was missing from my bag (I had mistakenly left it unlocked). The clerk refused to look and see if the lock had fallen on the floor, being very rude to me in the process. Then checkin was torture. Both of my local credit cards were not accepted for payment, so I had to go and get some cash. A photocopy of my girlfriend's passport was not sufficient so she had to go home and get her passport. Once she had her passport and I had cash it still took 30 minutes to check in. Arriving in the room I found cigar wrappers on the night table and a pad scribbled on. In the shower the soap tray fell off the wall when I put soap in it. It was made of metal and I was very fortunate it didn't hit my foot. At 9:30 in the morning one receives a call asking if tours are desired. Not great if you've been out til 3:00.
I found bigger rooms and more efficient and friendly service at the nearby Panorama for the same price. Ditto the Ramada, though more dear on the price.
Hotel Feature Tip : Good deal on Friday brunch in the downstairs pub; if you still feel like giving this place your business after rude treatment...

The hotel's location is really good: Two (large) blocks from the Bur Juman Shopping Mall, away near the textile and electronics souks. Taxis and buses are practically on the doorstep. The rooms (we had 712) are actually quite spacious.
The Indo-run hotel in the evening has a remarkable volume levels from which one but on the upper floors (we were in 7.) does not notice. The air conditioning worked, but was quite loud. The security of the electricity does not meet standards, Central: Three-pole sockets with twin-wire feed lines, and so occur.
We had a really good price on AGODA (end of October 2009). I would certainly go back to this hotel, however, expressed reservations already in the request for a quiet room (we had). The reception and the other employees were entirely and successfully tried. For a value not too long residence in which you want to learn about shopping and the city, a recommendation.
Shopping Tip : The electric and the textile souk is pretty close. With this skill, we can certainly find a bargain and negotiate a good price. -), Etc. For food, the French supermarket chain Carrefour (1.8 km from the hot tip - from spices and dates of (simple) clothes to electrical appliances and electronics.
