A person to person hotel! Not just room number.
The classical architecture and layout of the hotel produces the comfort of feeling right at home. No matter what the situation the staff was eagerly accommodating. Great location for all activies!
My time at the Milestone was nothing less than enjoyable. Although there was a slight issue with my room the first two days, the staff were eager to accommodate. They not only handled situations with grace and kindness but we're confindent in all tasks. The hotel gave me such a warm feeling that I extended my stay an extra 4 nights. I would encourage travelers looking for comfort and convience with a twist of class and a splash of excellence to stay at the Milestone.

Some disappointments given high rating
location, quiet room and the decor
My husband and I chose the Milestone Kensington based on its high rating. We found the service disappointing in three cases. First, our room was not available upon our arrival despite the fact it was past check in. We had travelled over 14 hrs and hadn’t slept in 24 hrs. We were exhausted and had to wait in the hotel bar for over 40 minutes. We waited a further 15 minutes for our luggage once in our room. The staff explained that they were at full capacity. I feel that a high star hotel should be able to provide proper service regardless. Another time we were given poor advice regarding the time needed to get to a particular theatre. The concierge did not include an allowance for heavy traffic and we ended up jumping out of the cab and running the last 3 blocks. The doorman also gave the wrong theatre name to the taxi driver. Fortunately we quickly figured out the error. Finally, I needed to contact a car rental company to alter a booking and called reception to ask about the policy with 1-800 numbers. I was told there would be no charge. I asked exactly how I should dial since you have to add various 0’s and 1’s when dialing in Britain. I followed the instructions precisely and upon check out was billed 60 pounds for long distance charges. They reversed the charges BUT not without making me feel that they were doing me a special favour. They did not acknowledge that their staff member had misinformed me and made me feel as though the fault was mine. Despite these disappointments, our room was quiet, beautifully decorated and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful in printing train tickets and making restaurant reservations. The hotel location was good with Kensington Park and Hyde Park across the street. Also, Kensington has lots of shops and restaurants. The subway was only 3 blocks away. I wouldn't rule out staying at the Milestone again, but I think I will take a look at the other top rated hotels and do some serious comparisons.

Lovely luxury hotel
Good location in front of Kensington park - near Knightsbridge
Hotel is an old English building that has been renovated. Rooms are cosy and service is really good. You can have tea in the afternoon in one of the salons and seat there to talk. Location is convenient in the center of London and in front of Kensington parl / palace. It is easy to find place to park vehicle nearby and bus to go to picadilly. Breakfast could have been better organized. Was good and enough food but not really a buffet.

Ich war mit meiner 17jährigen Tochter über ein Wochenende dort. Wir haben es wirklich genossen. Die kleinen Fehler haben uns nicht ernsthaft gestört. Der Preis ist sehr hoch, aber das Personal muss halt bezahlt werden, und gerade das Personal hebt das Hotel aus der Masse guter Hotels heraus.

, le domestiche entrano in camera all improvviso ,bussano alla porta piu volte per il riassetto,cosa molto sgradita per un albergo 5 stelle ,tv a pagamento anche per qualsiasi tipo di programma ,molto caro di prezzo per quello che offre non lo consiglierei a nessuno. ho avuto addebito di prodotti consumati dal frigo bar ma mai presi. la camera non e stata quella che avevo prenotato ,sul sito si presenta una diversa. camera estremamente piccola una volta aggiunto il terzo letto e impossibile muoversi si ha difficolta anche a svestirsi .
