Very remote location so quiet apart from the construction going on on site. No shops or anything else around. Upon arrival staff were more interested in getting us to upgrade our room rather than looking after our needs. Had to ask for kettle and steriliser for infant bottles was given on 3rd day only. Nice table setting with plates and cutlery in the rooms on arrival but no fruit platter - what was it put there for? It seems the resort goes out of its way to prevent guests eating their own food so you need to eat the expensive food on site. No (free) meals were ever offered to the children during 5 days! Arrival group photo was never given to us before departure. Poor information (none) on daily activities such as evening bbq on the beach etc. As the resort is open to day visitors it is not so private. Reception staff very busy with day visitors so staying guests suffer. Only 1 wind surf board so had to wait in queue behind day visitors to use it. Poor choice for meals and fruit. As this was off season apart from a holiday weekend, staff could have tried a lot harder. Could easily have been 8/10 but management needs to try harder to cater to the standard expected by foreign tourists and moreover paying guests.

Disappointing Trip

Wi Fi, Staff, and Food

We were disappointed with the hotel. The pool area was not well maintained, there were moss on the sides of the pool, the bridge's paint was flaking, and the concrete crumbling, the tiles were broken, which could cause serious injuries to swimmers/bathers. Our room key worked only for a while, then we had to ask the staff to use the master key to open our room. Even the rooms were not properly maintained. Outside our front door, the condensation from the air conditioner was leaking, making it slippery and dangerous. The flooring in the multi media/recreation center was also broken, and not yet fixed, which could pose a problem for the guests. The only good thing at this resort was the food, and the staff.

misibis is overrated

excellent service provided by staff, excellent sea view and mountains, privacy

Towels are dirty white with age, rooms are not sound proof you can hear people talking outside the room, entrance to hotel is not pretty.. construction on going maybe but still grounds are not landscaped. Too expensive a room discounted at that vs other resort hotels. Food at spice resto is ordinary therefore pricey. Aircon is above the door leading to a foyer therefore room where the bed is is too warm.

Honest Review

The food was great; the place is beautiful; the staff was professional.

Our stay was nice but I think they are too expensive. We brought our own wine and some of our own food, but by the time we left our settlement bill was 50% of the cost of the stay. $100 dinner each evening and they charge for EVERYTHING! They even charged us $50 to pick us up from the airport. Most places I've ever been to will at least provide you complimentary transportation if you are paying them hundreds of dollars a night to stay at their hotel. It's a very nice place, but be prepared to dish out A Lot of cash!!!

Our Misibis Bay Getaway

The staff, the view, the experience
8.7
Our stay I can rate as a 7 out of 10. We booked 4 rooms in total and some of those said rooms had incomplete things (like the refrigerator, wifi, number to call on the phone, etc) On our last day one of our room did not have a functional heater despite us calling it to their attention the day before. Despite the mishaps, I gave a high score because of their courteous, responsible, respectful, dependable, and 5 star worthy staff.
