It was nice as a woman on my own travelling for business to feel safe and secure overnight, the staff were all friendly and helpfull. The room was clean and well equipped the bathroom supplies such as shampoos etc were of a quality. Room Service was quick and good value. Set in a natural garden setting made for a nice outlook. Highly reccommend look forward to staying again

does live up to Mercure brand

This is a classic case of you get what you pay for. It was very cheap for a Mercure - I thought because it is large and it was low season. I would say it's because it is very tired and dated - the furniture is awful and maintenance is obviously a problem. We had no hot water, only discovered at 9pm at night when frozen and wet after being caught in the rain! It took 3/4 hr for us to be changed to another room.
Having said that they have compensated us satisfactorily and the staff were very pleasant. If you are just wanting cheap, then it would be fine. Just check if everything is working before unpacking.
Tip Penarik Perhatian/Pemandangan:
If it is raining, take an umbrella when going to the Eureka Stockade Light Show at night. The show is excellent.

This hotel is well priced in the overpriced australian market. It was very well located relative to Ballarat's many attractions.
Rooms were clean and facilities at the hotel were great. I'd recommend it for any visit to Sovereign Hill.

Great hotel with very friendly staff. Grounds were quite large and clean. Went looking for the secret garden - it truly was a secret. Only a short ride to town with lots of restaurants close by. Ate room service one night which was well presented and absolutely delicious however a little on the pricy side.

hotel was set inside a bueatifull garden , the room was spacious and reasonably modern inside . hotel didnt have a normal style restuarant so had to make own arrangements for dinner

A road sign to Mercure would help.

Lovely hotel but poor room facility

The air conditional of the room that we stay is not functioning. Instead of give us another room, the hotel staff give us another heater which is quite old. It makes the room stuffy when we on the heater, ut without that it is too cold. The flooring in the toilet is also very cold. However we love the beautiful garden in the hotel. It makes us feel like we are staying in countryside room.

although the weather wasn't very nice, the rooms were very cosy and the hotel had lots of charm and the staff were very accomodating to our requests. the food in the restaurant was also pretty good. if i had to complain it would be about the showers not having enough pressure.

I only stayed here 1 night and my decision to leave was purely because the internet didnt work. other than that, the hotel was adequate, and probably well suited to convention business as the title suggests.
