Pasangan Australia, 11 Mei 2013	Fantastic beach, hotel needs some maintenance Beach, food, beach 8 We had a great stay, although our initial impressions of the hotel and beach weren't very high compared to other places we had stayed in Sri Lanka. The hotel needs some simple maintenance and painting in bring it up to the standard it says it is at. However, over a few days the beach and relaxed vibe really won us over and we had a fantastic time, sad to leave!

We tried different places along the beach but ended up deciding the one in Chaaya has the best food choice, taste and serving style – and pricing is very reasonable (lunch with beer less than 15 USD per person) - Nice breakfast buffet with freshly made omlettes, crepes, waffles and really tasty pastries - Bright, crispy white & indigo design - Clean and properly heated pool with sea view - Our beach bungalow had a rainfall shower alfresco. Having a shower under the stars is just unforgettable - WiFi speed was OK and the connection was up all the time we were there - Very elegant live music every evening – guitar solos, saxophone Minuses - The hotel is not really new, so some parts of rooms (i.e. terrace in superior rooms, some walls) have battered look; - One night we saw a number of cows eating grass 3 meters away from our terrace. Not a big problem but may startle you if you don’t expect that in the middle of hotel grounds; Summing up – I’d definitely return myself and highly recommend this place for everyone heading to Trinco. There are not really much hotels around, and this one is the best if you are looking for a relaxing and well-serviced holiday. The place won’t go for nightlife lovers, but perfectly suitable families and couples looking for some romance and paradise-like views.

We got the newer beach chalets which have big bathrooms and the rooms are spacious. My family's main objective for traveling from Kalpitiya to Trincomalee (over 200 km of car travel each way) was to snorkel at Pigeon Island. It would have been perfect if the Hotel Manager at Chaya Blu had let us bring the Life Jackets which are provided in the rooms. Other than this the staff are friendly and accommodating.

Staff were not too friendly & rooms were old & worn out! We expected it to be so much better considering the price! Food was the only thing we enjoyed about this hotel! More Like 3*

Pasangan Sri Lanka, 26 Februari 2013	they hate people coming through agoda! horrible location is trincomalee thats all 4.7 before arrival we spoke to the hotel and they communicated all the conditions to us. we accepted them and went. on arrival every thing was communicated differently. we booked on b&B basis and requested for triple room. then they said they will put an extra bed for Rs 1500 (when we asked on the telephone). when we arrived they said they made a mistake and the third bed will cost US$ 51. that is 4 times what we were told. after a severe argument they said they will give the bed for Rs 1500 but the breakfast we have to pay. we had no place to go so we took this out of options. What were they thinking? B&B in the triple room means the third person has to pay separately for breakfast. absolute ripoff! once you come to trincomalee it is difficult to find a place on short notice. Chaaya people know this and this is how they sneak in to our pockets. Then on top one person there said Agoda offers lower rates and they are very unhappy about it. (Is is any of our business?) We didnt bother complaining to the management as we realised that this is a game they are all playing together. So we like to tell you We are absolutely disgusted! Tip: don't ever go to chaaya blu in trincomalee! they will rip you off. terms and conditions you agree upon are different to what they are on arrival. rooms are small and nothing much. no value for money at all.

Wonderful large pool plus easy ocean swimming from a nice beach. 8.7 this large and professionally run resort has all that is required for the tropical traveller. essential details in place such as good clean bed, good storage, safe, pleasant and stylish bath, etc.we loved the breakfast buffet. setting is coastal jungle, complete with monkeys and great ocean swimming. one significant problem was the huge amount of taxes that kept appearing when the bill arrived for food and drink. it seems they compound a series of taxes that add almost 25% onto our bill. as independent travelers we felt overwhelmed by the hubbub of large tour groups swooping in and dominating the premises.

Pasangan United Kingdom, 18 Januari 2013	The best place to stay in Trinco Staff service, Sri Lankan food, very comfortable room, location in such an interesting area 9.3 Notwithstanding this Trinco is a most interesting place to visit and this hotel more than met our expectations in terms of quality, service and comfort. As is normal in Sri Lanka the cheerful and friendly staff make such a difference and it was noticeable here how proud everyone was to be working in this hotel. We also had a driver who was not as happy as we were; my impression is that the drivers' accommodation is in a dormitory? Tip Restoran: If you like Sri Lankan food then you will find the rice and curry at Chaaya Blu quite excellent, the chefs are delighted to make special dishes to your taste and the breakfast string hoppers and egg hoppers are superb.
