it was one of the best hotel i've stayed.its a very nice designed hotel located in lovely area, staff was very professional and friendly, management was excellent knowing how to deal with customer's feedback. food is great and room service is super fast. the room we had is with a balcony, you have beautiful sunset over there. the whole place is romantic!i would love to come back again!

The best hotel experience I have ever had

The Hotel Santa Teresa is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Everything from the staff, the location, the design and the food were top notch. Located a taxi ride away from the 'action' in Ipanema or Copacabana this hotel became my oasis away from the crowded tourist hub of the city. The hotel is located in an area called Santa Teresa that has many wonderful restaurants, beautiful colonial mansions, and sweeping views of downtown. I ate at this incredible little cafe called Cafecito every morning and wish I could have brought back their salted pork loin to the United States with me.
The staff at Santa Teresa were some of the nicest and most helpful staff that I have ever come across. The front desk manager Tamara was so sweet that I looked forward to talking with her every morning. Her colleague Renato also gave us many wonderful restaurant recommendations and answered any questions we had. Staying at the Hotel Santa Teresa feels like you are a guest in someone's magnificent home and the staff really add to that feel.
The design of the hotel is perfect. I never wanted to leave and will 100% be coming back for another stay. A renovation of an old coffee plantation house, the hotel is filled with incredibly simple yet beautiful art work and sculptural pieces. I took so many pictures of the design because it inspired me to do some of my own DIY projects. I even bought two of the hand-carved monkey sculptures that you can find throughout the hotel. The room was also stunning, featuring one of the prettiest clay tubs I have ever seen. The design has a such a natural elegance that you truly feel like you have escaped to paradise. Five star in EVERY aspect.
Tip:
You must get a sandwich at Cafecito as well as try Cafe De Alto and a seafood soup at Sobrenatural.

beautiful hotel, fab location in Old part of town
views, staff, rooms and facilities

beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting overlooking the lights of rio form the old part of town. nice to stay here for a night or two to see the old part of town as well as the beaches that are the usual tourist destination. this hotel is of a very high standard with helpful staff, a beautiful pool, stylish rooms and wondeful breakfast and restaurants. a lovely atmosphere, and all in all a great package.
Tip Ciri-ciri Hotel:
Try the pool as the sun goes down. Beautiful views over the lights of the city.

We cannot say enough about this paradise! From the time we arrived until the night we left, we felt like we were at home with friends. Juan, the general manager, was wonderful and personable, and never missed a chance to ask how we were doing, and to share a laugh with us. The front desk staff were more than friendly and very helpful in arranging excursions. They really went the extra mile in working with the vendor when we were given the wrong disk from our hang gliding trip. The restaurant and food were absolutely amazing and we just loved the staff there as well. Our room was comfortable and overlooked a little street market, and we had a wonderful view of the quaint Santa Teresa. The bar area was comfortable as we lounged each night and sipped caprihinas. We also took advantage of the spa. This boutique hotel was so comfortable, we cannot say enough good things about our stay. We will definitely return and bring our friends! We just absolutely love this place!

I would suggest this hotel to those who want to see a different side or Rio rather than focusing mostly on it's beaches. Hotel Santa Teresa is perfect for traveling couples, families, singleton's - it holds something for everyone. I would certainly suggest it.
