Tiny rooms topped off a strange experience

The rooms were very small and the check-in and out was an hour later/earlier than conventional Japanese hotels which was annoying for planning. The hotel prides itself on being eco friendly, but we found all that meant was that it had a recycling bin in the room. the most annoying feature was that the public spa bath room was open from 3pm to 9am meaning rowdy guests could party on into the early hours keeping other guests awake. Breakfast was average, and dished up on army style mess tent trays.
Tip Penarik Perhatian/Pemandangan:
the temples/deers wandering the street made for a lovely day of sightseeing, but this could be done as a day trip from Kyoto as we didn't find much to entertain at night (good restaurants, etc)

Overall, the stay is very pleasant. The best way to do sightseeing in Nara is to rent a bike.

Very nice next to Nara Station

I traveled with my 13 years old boy and stayed in Nara for 3 days. The hotel is considerably price performance in terms of tidiness and location. The room is small and only good for taking rest. A very nice hot spring will complement your stay as surprise.

The hotel was very clean, excellent location, free gifts for ladies in the lobby (toiletries). The breakfast was not very appetising and there were too many people that there had to be an option to take the food up to the room. Unfortunately I came down with the flu/fever on this trip and needed medical attention at 2am. My room had no telephone and reception is not 24h. However, the next day the staff were very accommodating. They provided me with some Japanese medicine and showed me various hospitals/doctors. I needed to stay an extra night (unplanned), and they accommodated for me very well.

Great Location - room size is just right
Right beside the train and bus station. It has a 7/11 downstairs. Most of off the staff are extremely helpful

wonderful hotel! the location is excellent, this hotel is literally connected to the jr station by a walk-way-but the rooms are totally quiet! the hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the major temples in nara and there are plenty of opportunities for shopping and eating around the hotel. overall the room was very nice and very clean.

Great location, helpful staff. The free onsen and free breakfast are good. Computers available to surf internet in lobby. Bathrooms are tiny (if you are over 6 feet you may be cramped) and the room is small -- bed, desk and very little floor space. Hotel seems to be making an effort to be eco-conscious (mini fridge is not on unless you turn it on) but then why do they give you a gift bag of crap when you arrive?

If you arrive in Nara at the Shintetsu Nara station, it's a very short, cheap (200 yen or so) bus ride, or taxi ride, to the JR Nara station and this hotel. You can also walk in about 10 minutes.
