Could be better
Quick check-in, quiet area
Not really convincing hotel, cannot live up to 4 stars; dirty carpet in room, no hot water on 6th floor, breakfast with limited selection. We were glad to leave the next day.

Professional hotel
Decent restaurant (compared to the ones in town), kind and accomodating staff (albeint somewhat limited English) and comfort of the rooms
Given that DBP is far less touristy than cities such as Hanoi or Sapa, you cannot expect the same international standard from the hotels in this town - that said, this hotel is professionally run and provides a very decent option.

Poor hotel with negligent staff
Only "decent" option in town, location
Unfortunately there are not many options in Dien Bien Phu so you'll probably end up there anyway. Don't get fooled by the pictures though. The hotel is wore down and rooms definitely need some refreshing : cigarette burns on carpet, smell of old tobacco, suspicious cleaning. Staff is negligent and even mean. We were almost victims of a scam for a tour of the city we never asked for and had to argue a long time with the manager to get out of it. Language barrier does not help especially in such remote areas but they definitely tried to charge us with something we did not ask for. I had been to Muong Thanh hotel in Quy Nhon before and it was a very nice stay. This one though I would not recommend at all.

Comfortable with very efficient and helpful staff
The hotel is clean, well run with extremely helpful staff
We had an excellent stay in the Muong Thanh Dien Bien Phu Hotel. The majority of the staff do not speak much English, however, those who do (the manager, for instance) spoke excellent English and was more than helpful with obtaining bus tickets and organising a taxi for 5.00 am. The room was very clean, everything worked and it was a comfortable place to return to after a hot day in the town. The restaurant is large with an extensive menu however, the waiting staff, again, do not speak much English. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Bizarre hotel but well located
Location, pleasant staff and easy to get around
Hotel was quite strange. Rooms were okay. Breakfast was absolutely disgusting. Pool/grotto was truly bizarre and there was a strange club downstairs. Very peculiar.
