Small, comfortable, friendly.
A small hotel with lots of period charm set in a lush tropical walled garden close to the Royal Palace and within walking distance of Phnom Penh's main tourist area. Clean, comfortable and guest friendly, with helpful staff. Rooms are well equipped and security is good . I plan to stay here again on my next visit.

Nestled in lovely vegetation surroundings; great location
My third time here and I will continue to come; it's a bit more than most hotels of it's stature but for the atmosphere and location, it's worth it.

best option of this price range
location, staff, ambiance
I've stayed in many hotels in Phnom Penh. This is certainly the best of this category and I will certainly return. The only drawback is that the downstairs rooms are dark. The front door is clear glass which lets in light if you're dressed - but otherwise you need to close the curtain and turn on the lights. The only window opened to a wall 2 feet away. I will only stay again if I can get an upstairs room but it seems popular so one needs to book in advance. Very lovely setting, ideal location and the staff was consistently charming and helpful.

A hotel with marvellous plants
The plants, the staff and the manager
Sadly, our children were ill during our stay at Mysteres & Mekong so we couldn't explore much of Phnom Penh. But the staff was extra nice and everything we asked for was brought immediately. The manager, Jean-Luc, was incredibly nice, too, as he always ensured that we enjoyed our stay to the maximum. Very memorable to me was the unique way they have arranged the plants, as they hang from above and it gives a very authentic jungle feeling. Also, the hotel is located right in the heart of the city so it is very easy to go for a shopping spree. But don't think it is loud by night! The hotel is located in a quiet street so you can sleep very well. I would definitely recommend to stay at this hotel if you don't want to spend a high budget but still want to have an enjoyable stay.

Delightfully quaint hotel with lots of character
Offering quiet and secure accommodation in convenient location
This was my first stay (but not my last, I hope) in this small hotel full of charm and character. Enjoying a central location in the Royal Palace area, the hotel is in the quiet 244 Street. (The grounds are uneven and pathways narrow, so not really wheelchair friendly). A total of 18 rooms offer three differing sizes of accommodation. I had a spacious ground floor garden room with high ceiling, shuttered windows and subdued lighting (all operated by hand), original stone-tiled floor, and proper wooden door with proper lock and brass key. The colonial-style dark wood furnishings provided sufficient drawer, shelf and cupboard space (contents of which included a hand-held hair dryer and a room safe); a curtained walk-in closet also housing mini-bar (complementary bottled drinking water) and tea/coffee making facilities; and a four-poster bed with mosquito netting (not needed). The en-suite bathroom facilities were very modern, with wash basin, toilet and shower cubicle, but retained original wall tiles for the mirror and basin surrounds. The stand-alone a/c unit, when supplemented by the efforts of the ceiling fan, was sufficient to cool the room, which tended to become stuffy during periods of non-use. The room was cleaned daily with a change of towels and bed linen. Lush tropical plantings fill the grounds and pool area with abundance, providing ample shade and housing birds and insect life, but intruding somewhat onto the pathways and shedding leaves and debris into the pool which thus requires constant skimming. Towels and sun loungers/seating are provided poolside (some 5m x4m and from waist to chin deep), where liberal applications of protection against both sun and insects are strongly recommended. Both Reception and the external gate security guard booth are manned 24/7.

Gone from good to meh
Nice building and decor, nice pool
We booked at the last minute, so noone was there when we turned up an hour later. The guard was reluctant about letting us in. Finally someone showed up and showed us to our room. The room had a strong smell of mold. We asked for a different room - this was eventually arranged. The TVs are tiny.
