location -- that's it

what a huge letdown; you can do a lot better. nevermind the 38 steep stairs you must scale to get to reception -- this is common in amsterdam -- or the lack of assistance hauling bags up said stairs (not so common): the staff even worse. as for the room, the refrigerator didn't work, the television's picture was full of static, the fan in the bathroom doesn't have an on/off switch, and bed was ready to fall apart. most laughable of all: when i returned to my room at night and turned on the sink to brush my teeth, water poured onto my feet -- that's right, the piping connected to the bottom of the sink had eroded to the point where it came disconnected. as for the staff, when i asked how to turn off the bathroom fan, a receptionist snapped "you can't turn it off. you want it off? i will have to turn it off," then let out a big sigh like i was inconveniencing him. seriously? second, my wife showed up the morning i was checking out, and i brought her inside with the sole purpose of showing her the laughable room, and dropping her bag in my room before i checked out 2 hours later. a manager called my room and was literally screaming at me about how i'm not allowed to have others in the hotel, etc etc etc -- i mean literally screaming -- to which i politely apologized, explained why she was there (and that she would only be there for 2 minutes), but that wasn't good enough. he totally flipped out.

Convenience

Near to major attractions, easy access to public transport and good breakfast
6.7
The room is a little bit small. We stayed in a 2 single beds room and the bed is extra small. Easily roll off the bed. The condition is a little bit old and towel looks not clean. Maybe due to its colour. However, the hotel is centrally located and easily access to tram station. Its also situated very near to Dam Square and Anne Frank House. The breakfast is simple but good although the dining room is a little cramp.

Great stay in Amsterdam

we visited amsterdam for the first time and it was great that we had chosen nadia hotel for our vacation. the hotel is not very big, but the stuff (very welcoming) tried to do their best for we enjoyed our stay. on arrival we were offered cold beverages and found beautiful flowers in our room. nadia hotel has a perfect location, only 5 minutes walk from the dam square. so we were able to visit most places of interest which were situated close to the city center. we liked amsterdam a lot, so next time we'll definitely stay at nadia hotel.
