Lovely Hotel - Great location

Location, Roof top Pool and views.
We booked this last minute for an extra night in Bangkok and got a great deal. We had been in a mini bus for about 6 hours so were sweaty and tired and getting to the Navalai was like heaven. Really lovely reception area with complimentary drinks on arrival. Pleasant and helpful staff and the rooms were immaculate and really nicely decorated with a complimentary fruit bowl. Only a 5-10 minute walk from Koh San Road, so you can get involved in the craziness at night but escape the noise of it when you get back here. Would highly recommend!

Ok, but a little pricey

The three best things about this hotel would be the location (close to temples and palaces), the cleanliness, and the roof top view
Our stay was short, and I was exhausted, so I may not have the best opinion, but I thought this hotel (by FAR the most pricey of our hotels in Thailand), was not worth the extra money. The upside is its convenient location, on the river, by a river taxi stop, and close to tourist attractions, bars, and restaurants. With that, though, you definitely compromise on noise. Thankfully we were exhausted, so it didn't phase us, but it would definitely be an issue if we'd stayed longer. We were charged extra on Agoda bc our room featured "free breakfast," which I find amusing. We did not get to enjoy, however, because we had to hurry to the airport. There was no option to get our money back. I also did not like the fact that if the hotel called a cab for you, that it was a flat rate of at least 800 Baht. This is complete rip off, as it is illegal for a cab not to use their meter in Bangkok, and metered ride to the airport is only 500 baht at most. It just put a bad taste in my mouth, and made me feel like they were trying to get money out of us rather than help us out as their guests. Other than that, though, the staff were friendly. Also, disclaimer, the Wifi is spotty and a pain to use. You have to enter your password every time. Hold on to your paper!

Nicely located retreat

Location next to the river, Quiet room and Comfortable Bed
The welcoming staff graciously allowed a very early check-in, and the room was both clean and spacious, with effective a/c (a MUST in steamy Bangkok). The roof-top pool is small, but fine for a short cooling dip - though it's strange there were no showers around (so basically most people seem to jump in just to wash the sweat off, which is a slightly unsavoury thought). The location next to the river boat stop is superb, and the rooms are surprisingly quiet - so it's easy to get a good night's sleep. The breakfast was a let-down (compared to similar Bangkok hotels in the same star and price range), though the dining area next to the river is very pleasant.

Expensive and small

location loation location
I found the room and the TV to be very small and the price very big. I wanted a later check out and all that they would offer for even one hour was a half day charge. I've never been treated so badly in Thailand in 20 years of staying there

Beautiful bedroom, nice location, helpful staff
The toilet was broken, but staff did come to fix it right away. The shower head was also broken, but by the time we noticed we just needed to get clean and leave, so we didn't have time for more repairs. The pool hours were really short, 8am-8pm. Sad since their pictures show it at night!!

It can be nice

Comfort, food and staff
We couldn't sleep. Until midnight we had live music from the opposite side of Phra Artit and for the rest of the night the traffic noise was loud enough. The rppms facing the main road Phra Artit are definitely too loud to sell hem as hotel rooms unless doors and windows are upgraded in terms of noise absorbtion.

An oasis of comfort

staff, furnishings, location
we had a lovely stay, with great service from the moment we got out of the taxi. We were served cool drinks and damp towels while we were still at reception, a great relief from the steaming heat. Then we moved into our large and spacious room, complete with all amenities. Once we'd checked out we left our luggage in storage before our late night flight, and the resort kindly let us continue to use the pool before leaving. The restaurant serves good food, in a great location, watching all the life on the adjoining river. Overall a great stay and would love to go back.
