Very traumatic experience at New Cosmos Hotel
It was a traumatic experience from check-in, so I left and paid a little more and stay just a few doors away. The Chungking Mansions is a shady and filthy area, and it gets worse at night with shady characters lurking around and touting for business. The lifts to all floors are slow, and have long queues with people waiting to get in. The so called hotel's makeshift reception is nothing but a small entrance (which cannot even fit a queen-sized bed) manned by a young Nepalese man who will greet you at the gated entrance after you exit the lift on the 4th floor. The room is filthy, crammed and looks more like a prison cell. When asked for a better room, they are exceptionally rude but later offer you one on the 17th floor, even after they say that they are fully booked for the night. Plain cheats they are, so BEWARE! The pictures listed for this property are all lies. The area is old, dilapidated, smelly and filthy with bugs crawling all over. If you do not want to risk you life and health, check out safer and cleaner alternatives in Kowloon for the same price range - backpacker hotels with better facilities and close access to the MTR at Mong Kok which is also along Nathan Road.

Gangsterfeeling all in clusive
I booked 2 Nights but stayed only for one. The rooms are very simple and small but clean. The hostel is situated in a complex old building called Chungkings mansion. As a girl I didn't feel safe in this location. Got warned by taxi drivers to not stay there alone. Rats were running down the gangways.
