Easy getaway for a few days

Proximity to Singapore, on the beach, walking grounds
Nirwana is a lot of fun for a couple for a couple of days. It is right on the beach, the cabanas are charming and clean (although water pressure is low). The facilities are good in their variety - bowling, table tennis, badminton, shooting range, etc. but quite tired looking - especially the badminton courts. The thai restaurant was fantastic. Pool furniture is old and uncomfortable, it's a lot more fun to sit at the beach. I liked the grounds - there are 3 or 4 mini resorts in one place and it was fun to walk/run around. I'll definitely return b/c it was such an easy trip to get there from Singapore via ferry and complimentary Nirwana bus. Staff are very friendly.

Good beach Bad sleep

The beach. The food. Easiness of travel from singapore
I just moved from Singapore and like the weekend trip to Bintan. Sadly I've stayed twice and the only good thing is the food and the beach. Don't go if you need a goods night rest or pay for a better resort. Both times our fridges didn't work. The fan makes disturbing noises all night making it hard to sleep. As well as the beds are very uncomfortable. I've had better nights of sleep camping on the ground. The beach is beautiful and the food at the Thai and Indian restaraunt are great. I guess you need to sacrifice comfort for their prices.

Great customer service but hotel is quite run down

amazing staff, great location with very nice beach, good food
The Beach Club is part of Nirwana Garden, so the customer service is up to the resort standard, the staffs are very friendly and helpful, their response is fast. When we came, the aircon in our room doesn't work because it is out of gas, we call the reception and the issue is resolved within 30 minutes. They also let us check in early at 10am since the rooms are ready. They helped to send your baggage to the ferry terminal and collect the boarding pass. The beach opposite the Beach Club is fantastic, water is clear and clean, the sand is white the fine, it is much better than the beach in front of the main resort. The minus point is the room, it is big but old with old small. The toilet is clean but it is too old that it has permanent stain on toilet seat cover that freak us at first. They should really change it. In general it was a good stay, we had great time and great food the the seafood restaurant within the resort.

Good and Bad

The service there is impeccable, great working attitude.
The down point is that the things in the resort is very expensive and the fact that they have very few streetlights, which makes going out at night impossible without their shuttle service.

Kampong style. Reminiscence for the 70s living.

Good airconditioned simple rooms. 3mins walk to the beach. Free shuttle services within resort and ferry terminal.
The resort has free shuttle service to bring us around the huge resort area. We enjoyed most in the resort center and happy valley for the games and activities such as 🎯 archery and rifle shooting and target shooting beside the bowling alley. However, prices of everything in Bintan resort has been way overpriced. Food & drinks, transport, groceries like mini shampoo! are priced 20-40% higher than Singapore. No wonder much fewer people visits Bintan now. Pasar Oleh is all closed, all moving to plaza Lagoi which is very empty at this moment with only 2 restaurant and 2 massage. Honestly, my family and I concluded that we would rather visit Batam or Bali for a getaway.

Pleasant Stay with Friendly Staffs

Customer Service, Water Sports Activities, Accessibility
Had a great time during our short 2 days 1 night getaway. Staffs were really friendly and helpful. My only problems were the weak air conditioning in my room (though my friends' were fine), and the Dino Bistro's quality of food was not up to our liking as well as being over priced. Water sports was tremendously fun with great service. The Kelong seafood restaurant took us by surprise as the food was pretty delicious though still expensive. Great location with just a 10 minutes drive from the ferry terminal. The resort staffs actually booked a car to send us back to the terminal on our departure date. The resort may not be as extravagant or luxurious as the hotel but definitely value for money. Will totally come back again.
