Simple over night stay

Aircon is good, brekkie in nirwana resort was good
Very simple overnight room stay. Paid extra $20 for outdoor deck but the chairs and area looks mouldy. It was waste of money. The fridge wasn't working and I feel the accommodation is over price for the rates.

Great resort

Location, staff, facilities
Great weekend away. Would highly recommend the beach club. Couldn't ask for a better location, staff were all very friendly and helpful and bungalows were fantastic.

Good Value (by Bintan standards) Basic Bungalows.

Good value, near the beach.
The accommodation here seems to be basing itself on the beach bungalow style of Thailand (or probably Indonesia but i only have experience of Thailand so can't say) however, these days it just lacks the character of a Thai bungalow. The NBC Cabana Resort sits in the middle of the manicured complex of the Nirwana Gardens which reminds one of living on a golf course. It's pleasant enough, but brings to mind The Truman Show. When i last came here 15 years ago, Mana Mana Beach Club as it was known then, was very characterful and lovely. Somehow now the character is missing and everyone wears painted on smiles, drives around on solo electric people transporters and tells you how wonderful everything is all the time. But it is singularly lacking in any spontaneous fun and inspiration. Good for a 2 day quiet beach bump, but I'm afraid longer than that and it would start to destroy your soul. Just want to add... The staff at the NBC however, were very gracious and kind. This is not a slur on the people, but more on the space that "Perfect, serve all" resorts occupy these days.

Easy getaway for a few days

Proximity to Singapore, on the beach, walking grounds
Nirwana is a lot of fun for a couple for a couple of days. It is right on the beach, the cabanas are charming and clean (although water pressure is low). The facilities are good in their variety - bowling, table tennis, badminton, shooting range, etc. but quite tired looking - especially the badminton courts. The thai restaurant was fantastic. Pool furniture is old and uncomfortable, it's a lot more fun to sit at the beach. I liked the grounds - there are 3 or 4 mini resorts in one place and it was fun to walk/run around. I'll definitely return b/c it was such an easy trip to get there from Singapore via ferry and complimentary Nirwana bus. Staff are very friendly.

Good beach Bad sleep

The beach. The food. Easiness of travel from singapore
I just moved from Singapore and like the weekend trip to Bintan. Sadly I've stayed twice and the only good thing is the food and the beach. Don't go if you need a goods night rest or pay for a better resort. Both times our fridges didn't work. The fan makes disturbing noises all night making it hard to sleep. As well as the beds are very uncomfortable. I've had better nights of sleep camping on the ground. The beach is beautiful and the food at the Thai and Indian restaraunt are great. I guess you need to sacrifice comfort for their prices.

Great customer service but hotel is quite run down

amazing staff, great location with very nice beach, good food
The Beach Club is part of Nirwana Garden, so the customer service is up to the resort standard, the staffs are very friendly and helpful, their response is fast. When we came, the aircon in our room doesn't work because it is out of gas, we call the reception and the issue is resolved within 30 minutes. They also let us check in early at 10am since the rooms are ready. They helped to send your baggage to the ferry terminal and collect the boarding pass. The beach opposite the Beach Club is fantastic, water is clear and clean, the sand is white the fine, it is much better than the beach in front of the main resort. The minus point is the room, it is big but old with old small. The toilet is clean but it is too old that it has permanent stain on toilet seat cover that freak us at first. They should really change it. In general it was a good stay, we had great time and great food the the seafood restaurant within the resort.
