A short getaway from Singapore, one can relax by the pool and enjoy freshly made food and ice cold beer and alcoholic beverages under the sun. A recommend for anyone who wants a quiet vacation away from your busy life.

Hotel with private beach access

Location, outdoor facilities, friendly service

We were given a room in the old wing which is quite old (hotel staff said that it will be furbished towards end of the year. The room was okay, we had to switched room because the aircon was not working well. It was spacious with basic furnishing. Design is a bit old, bed was comfortable, and basic amenities are well equipped. The greatest part is the beach access and plenty of space for just enjoying the sun and sea breeze. Food is overpriced, quite a variety for breakfast selection with so-so quality. I'd say it's more of a 4-star plus hotel, not yet a 5-star.

clean, friendly staff, proximity to beach

2nd visit to bintan but 1st time staying at NRH. fuss-free transfer from ferry terminal. check-in was quickly processed and offered a free room upgrade. room was clean and spacious. buffet breakfast boasted a good spread. free wifi was quite okay. food at the restaurants are not cheap (though nett) but portions are reasonable. staff generally very friendly and helpful. as my trip was during the weekdays, the place was not crowded. managed to enjoy the food and swim and beach at our own pace. weather was good. a good balance of sun, clouds and wind. however, the resort does not have many lamps in the area so it's not a good idea to be out at night.

the bed was very damp, other than that are quite ok, during our stay it keeps raining, we can only stay at hotel, nothing else to do, there is walking distance from hotel to mini zoo and plaza, but shuttle bus quite limited.

Average Resort - Overrated

Pool, Thai Food and Location

Highly overrated resort. We chose Deluxe Room [Middle category] however were surprised. We went back to reception and they confirmed it was indeed deluxe. The room was not neat with dead cockroaches on the floor. Bed sheets had stains and towels looked shabby. Toilet was very dirty. We went back to reception asking for a different room. They told us it was booked and only upgrade was possible. So we ended up asking housekeeping to change the sheets. Second day, they forgot to keep the towels!! We called housekeeping and they told us it getting washed and need to wait for sometime! Can you imagine it? Considering Christmas/Peak season, upgrade was not worth plus we did not know if the quality would be any better. Dining was a horrible experience. It took forever to place an order and get the food. Average waiting time is close to 1 hour. Exception was Thai Restaurant. Food and hospitality was excellent.

Typically with buildings in Indonesia the attention to details is what can let them down. Leaking roofs causing stains on ceilings, marks on walls or loose electrical or plumbing fittings are fairly common across many, many hotels in the region (even brand new ones)and this one would be no different though I found no such problems in our room. If you can accept that then you will enjoy the rooms here though they could do with some sound proofing as you can hear your neighbors fairly clearly when they are talking and laughing. The resort grounds are nice and well maintained, the pool is nice and the staff are constantly cleaning the beach and keeping it looking good (though if you walk up the beach away from the resort you will find piles of debris washed up on the shore. I read before going that meal prices were ridiculously high and for Indonesia they are but for a resort they are only moderately high. We were there over Christmas and had the Christmas Eve Buffet which cost around $130AUD for the 2 of us and about the same again for Christmas lunch. For dinner the second night we ate at the bistro which was much more reasonably priced, Breakfast was included on the room price. There is a small zoo on the grounds and an elephant park (I didn't see it) and they bring an elephant down to the beach daily where you can get a photograph and apparently get a ride though I didn't see anyone riding it. There is quad bike hire, jet ski, golf cart and car hire all available as well as a ten pin bowling alley so plenty to do at the resort or you can head off to some of the tourist attractions or a city tour. We only stayed 2 nights which didn't leave much time to fully explore the resort or the island as we arrived after 6pm the first day and had to be out by 12 the last day but I would definitely consider returning for a longer break and a chance to explore both the resort and it's activities as well as the rest of the Island.
