It was good. This is a reasonable hotel according to the price. Good friendly staff and they give a good service as well. I can't say this is a luxury hotel. I can use the word reasonable.

This hotel is a joke!!!! We stayed here overnight as we were arriving late into Colombo, the lobby was lovely then the minute you turn the corner to go to the accommodation side it all turns sour, the rooms are fine, but the bathroom was absolutely horrible, they desperately need to spend even a tiny bit of money on refurbishing the bathrooms- the shower was mould ridden & the toilet didn't flush. We had no choice but to dine in the 'fine dining restaurant' we walked in the door and the staff just stared at us, we sat down ordered a beer that took 15 mins to arrive (4 people in the restaurant plus us) We ordered food, came out reletively fast compared to
The beers, but was cold! At this point we had given up caring about trying to make the most of the situation so we went to sleep, had breakfast- again staff standing around and just stared at us when we walked in, the food was horrid- we checked out and this is possibly the straw the broke the camels back- the female receptionist that checked us out visibly couldn't care less about our experience.
I asked the receptionist to change some money for me- she literally pointed at the cashier window and said nothing!!!!!! The doorman ran over and immediately changed my money, my partner and I waited in the coffee shop- 15 mins past and no staff were in site, dispite 5 standing at the reception desk in full view of the coffee shop, again the doorman rushed

we put up in the hotel for 3 days on a bb basis. the hotel rooms were a little dark and there were a lot of mosquitoes. the restaurant was good.

Clean hotel with helpful staff
Clean, large rooms although the bathroom may not be up to everyone's standards regards the shower stall. However the staff was friendly and spoke English fairly well. The hotel restaurant served excellent food at cheap prices.

enjoyable stay and would return again. the only problem is that contrary to the hotel description regarding its location is that it is 30 to 40 minutes approximately to colombo and there are no restaurants, bars or shops in the area and the sidewalks are for the most part non-existent so you are pretty much confined to the hotel.

Great location as a first stop base
Clean basic room, good hot water pressure, easy walk to shops and food

Clarion is a good base for the first night arrival or departure on your last day. Locations for eats and small shops are walk able and on the main street. Room are tired but clean. Toilet is also clean with good hot water pressure. Serves our needs and also provides basic breakfast.
