Illusie (renovatie nodig!)
- Zeer mooi gelegen.
- Geweldige ligging aan een heel fijn strand/baai.
- Heel goed ontbijt; vers, netjes; echt heerlijk. Er wordt aan tafel geserveerd en verse eitjes en wafels worden gebakken in de keuken.
- Mooi uitzicht.
- Weinig tot geen last van vieze toeristen.
- erg fijn bed! Aan harde kant; maar heel fijn.

Wij zijn hier in het laagseizoen geweest (april).
Bij aankomst waren we heel blij; het zag er geweldig mooi en chique uit. Een gezellige stijl en aardig personeel. We namen voor de kamer klaar was een drankje in de lobby/restaurant die uitkeek op zee en het zag er allemaal geweldig uit. Tot we naar onze kamer werden gebracht; ronduit onbeschoft! Een hele oude kamer waar bijna niets in staat behalve een bed, een zeer oude badkamer, scheuren in de muren, een hele muffe stank en uitzicht op elektriciteitskabels; veel kabels!
Naast de staat van deze kamer was het ook erg smerig; we vonden haren terug van de vorige logees . Hiervoor betaalden wij € 100 euro!
De upgrade die wij terecht vonden kregen we in eerste instantie niet; de manager mocht dit niet doen. We hebben 1.5 uur lang gesproken over een andere kamer. De manager heeft uiteindelijk op de site van agoda gekeken en gaf toe dat dit wel erg misleidend was. Na 2 uur eindelijk toch (met hulp van agoda) een andere kamer gekregen. Deze was met uitzicht op zee en zag er wel wat netter uit (mede door uitzicht). Ook deze kamer erg oud en muffig.
Ook hier werd slecht schoongemaakt.
Het hotel heeft echt een renovatie nodig en een goede manager die zijn klanten tevreden kan stellen. Paul, de manager, vond dit erg moeilijk en kon weinig zelf beslissen. Hierdoor zijn wij 2 nachten gebleven in plaats van 8.
Tip: huur een scooter en ga naar Patong ( veel sextoerisme, clubs en shoppen, maar moet je 1 avondje gezien hebben) of naar Kata of Karon: dit is binnen een half uur per scooter bereikbaar.
Tip:
Hotel: bij kata beach heb je genoeg! Avista is prima en nieuw.
Eten: TWO CHEFS!!!! Geweldige keuken, in tijden niet zo lekker gegeten! Van drie Zweedse koks; echt super!

Enjoyable - the hotel is a little bit tired though

The hotel was fine but not having wifi in the rooms or having to pay for it in hotel of thsi start rating is really strange - why not just make it free everywhere. In addition the breakfast is poor and food is left uncovered.

It's really a wonderful stay ,everything is perfect ,the nice design room, the nice balcony,the nice restaurant ,the nice environment ,the nice staff. Even though the hotel is a little bit far away from the airport , it's nothing since the hotel got a really really nice private beach, the wonderful beach! Really enjoy the time there..by the way it's worth to try the international buffet at Friday night!

Great place for a quiet time

This was a good hotel for a quiet holiday - it's ideal if you don't really want to go anywhere else in Phuket. There's a bunch of local restaurants within a 5 minute walk, and a much larger shopping / dining area of Naiharn about another mile down the road. Beach is not crowded because there's only 3 resorts nearby. Hotel food is reasonable too. They have a OK gym, one smallish pool and a tennis court (short drive away but it's free and they drop you there and pick you up without charging anything).
However, it's far from everything so if you want to go shopping every day and be in Phuket Town or Patong, then better to stay somewhere close to the action - a ride into town and back costs about 900 B.

Fantastic view. Plenty of quiet places to chill out and read. Good food in but be prepared to pay.

Seamless service and beautiful hotel

Wonderful. The hotel decor is themed to blend the outdoor to the indoors. The terrace is huge, comfortable and has a sense of openness and connection to the outside but at the same time provides enough sense of enclosure to let you sense that you are in a contained environment. The design is perfect for the location. The hotel provides access to a beautiful beach. This can be physically swimming, sunbathing or walking or you may be sipping a martini on the terrace or enjoying a magnificent seafood platter (the chef is good!) while watching a beautiful sunset over the beach and bay. A perfect accommodation for a romantic beach holiday.

Outstanding service, excellent kitchen, and a great bar for sundowners looking across the bay. Room was well appointed, bathroom was luxurious, sea view terrace was brilliant. Lovely quiet location on a very busy, sometimes crazy island.
