Nice hotel, excellent location

Location, individual bungalow layout
9
This is a very pleasant hotel located only about three minutes walk from the railway station. Most of the rooms are individual bungalows, each with a terrace in a garden setting. Although on the small side each bungalow is very private. There is a very inviting pool, with an open - air restaurant area off to one side, all very clean and well maintained. A very simple breakfast is included in the room rate. The center of Nong Khai is about five minutes away by tuk tuk.

Good Value for Money

Nice Garden with pool

I stayed in Nong Khai Resort a few times already. Be careful there are 2 other places with similar names. ( Nong Khai Guesthouse and Nong Khai Hotel and resort). The bungalows are small but nice. The free breakfast is very basic, but you can pay for additional items. The place is quiet and the staff friendly. It's about 3 km to the center of Nong Khai, but close to railway station and Lao border crossing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The big Sculpture Park " Sala Keow Ku" is worth visiting. About 5 km away and 100 Baht one way by TukTuk.

great location right outside train station

Very close to train station
7.3
The train station is about 400 metres from this hotel and is ideal if you intend to take a train to Bangkok or the local train to Udon Thani or Nakon Ratchsima or Laos. There is a small swimming pool and we used a chalet with a double bed. Everything was clean and tidy. Unusually the new receptionist if from Bangkok and speaks perfect English. Breakfast is the Thai version of Congee which was nice with bread, butter and an assortment of jams. It is all self service for toast coffee or tea facilities are available.

Great little spot to stay

Bungalow (individual accommodation)
7.7
The Nongkhai Resort is an ideal location for travellers using the Nongkhai Train Station, as it is only a 3-4 minute walk between the 2 locations. The resort is a quiet, comfortable setting, designed for relaxing with all bungalow accommodation around a central pool.

"Pleasant resort in a quiet location"

Open air Restaurant/Lobby. Laundry Service. Clean Swimming Pool.
7.3
Generally speaking a pleasant, quiet resort opposite the train station. Our 6 night stay in a standard bungalow was comfortable with a good maid service.Had problems with fridge and air con but these were quickly maintained. The room needs a lick of paint. Laundry service good.Swimming/Splash pool clean, plenty of sun beds. The downside is paying visitors (60Baht)can use the facility so on two occasions became noisy and crowded with Thai children/teenagers.Enjoyed breakfast.Wi-Fi in all areas, please update hotel features/facilities. We would stay again and recommend this resort to all.

Beautiful Resort

Nice Bungalows,Lovely Pool,Beautiful Gardens.

One of the best Resorts i have stayed at not only in Nongkhai but in Thailand. The Pool is family friendly and one of the best maintained i have seen. The Gardens are beautifully manicured and tendered daily. All this and the friendly staff make this one of the best resorts i have used and would not hesitate to recommend it to other travellers. The Resort is walking distance to the train station and you can get a tuk tuk into town and the Mekong for 80 baht.
Restaurant Tip: The Breakfast of Rice soup and toast can become a bit boring after a few days but you can order a dcent breakfast for 100 baht or walk 50mts up the road for a good breakfast at a reasonable price.

Good rooms,some chalet style.

Happy staff.

Location excellent near(100 metres)Railway station where there are always Tuk Tuks for hire.Awesome electrical storm. Only bad mark is that the breakfast could be improved and an attempt made to supply an evening meal option.
Restaurant Tip: Thirty metres down the road is a wonderful small restaurant.Quick and cheap meals available.Very good.

Nice swimming pool, garden, average room

swimming pool

The bungalows are situated in a lovely garden and there is a very nice swimming pool. We chose this hotel to chill out a day after travelling for 24 hours from Europe. It was perfect for this. The inside of the bungalow was nothing special but fair enough and there was a nice balcony as well. It's very close to the railway station but far away from the town center. Possible to walk (half an hour) or take a tuk-tuk. Breakfast was included, but it was very simple: rice-soup (nice!), cheap white toast bread, butter, jam, tea/Nescafe.

Quiet hotel in peaceful setting

Quiet hotel, clean room, beautiful garden
7
This hotel is next to the Nong Khai train station. It has adequate parking and beautiful garden with flowering trees. The pool is too small to do laps, but good for playing around. The breakfast is very simple--toasts and porridge. If you stay here for more than a few days, you will quickly be bored of the breakfast. I suggest walking outside the hotel to get breakfast. The drive into town (Ta Sadej area) takes 10 minutes. Non-smoking rooms are available. The rooms are clean and look new. The bed is a bit firm and the shower has poor water pressure. For the price you are paying, this is one of the best values in town. You do need a car to get around. Internet is available only in the dining area, not in your rooms.
