We've experienced a great holiday

service, location and room
During our stay from January 4-15 we have very much enjoyed Nora Buri' Resort and Spa hospitality. Very nice and friendly staf supported us with all our requirements. The hillside rooms are located on a steep hill therefor the use of their free golf-car service was very welcome. Both pool areas including pool bars were spacious, clean and convenient and daily happy hours at 1pm, 2pm and 5pm helped us to start the afternoons/evening ;) All in all a nice 5* hotel to return to

I enjoyed my stay.

Amazing room, pool and beautiful resort.
It was good in general, but would be great if the hotel has some emergency medical services. I was having fever because of food poison and want to ask if the hotel has any thermometer to check my temperature but there's no first aid kit whatsoever. I guess the English level of the reception is not very good so the communication is difficult when it's something they are not familiar with. Nonetheless, as a 5- star hotel, I think some first aid kit or basic medical devices should be there, especially in Thailand where food poison is quite commom.

Where to begin? As a previous reviewer on this site pointed out, I guess FOOD POISONING is a good place to start. We both ordered room service (2 different dishes) and we both were horribly sick for the following 24 hours - and had the joy of having to visit the local hospital. Note that we only ate at the resort that day (which is quite isolated despite advertisement that it's close to Chaweng beach)... which, with hindsight, we strongly discourage. The manager, wasn’t very sympathetic with our situation, initially refusing to even speak with us. We find it suspicious at best that he denied that other such incidents had occurred since other reviewers are now reporting the same situation . refused to offer a refund for our remaining 3 (prepaid) nights which we ultimately decided to forfeit for the sake of our health. He even dared to contest our Agoda request for reimbursement – thank your for your support despite the hotel’s outrageous greediness. Other issues pale in comparison but need nonetheless to be mentioned: the systematic appalling service; simply refusing to deliver ice to a room because they were “busy”; check-in/check-out delays being ridiculously long; broken phone and Internet in the room; holes in the bed sheets; the absence of an actual beach, etc. Five stars, really??? This resort is clearly sailing on past glory. However, there are serious cracks appearing and we certainly feel the boat will be sinking in the very near future if they keep up this kind of “service”. There is no shortage of nice and welcoming actual five stars resorts on the island. Avoid this one either because of its appalling service or for the more straightforward argument that they may very well send you to the hospital!

Great for long weekend

Service, staff friendly and beach pool view
Was a wonderfull experience overall. Very pleasant, helpfull, service minded and friendly staff. However, the quality of the food at the 'theme' buffets nights and also the quality of the western food at the reataurant is very far from the level you would expect at this hotel and not worth the time nor money. On the other hand, the Thai food restaurant and especially the service provided by the four staff members is very, very good! We will come back.

A relaxing stay at Nora Buri

the affinity pools, the buffet breakfast, the gym room
Overall, our stay at the hotel was a relaxing one. We got a room overlooking the ocean and the view was spectacular. The room itself was spacious and clean. Hot water was not always guaranteed. The two affinity pools were great and the one near the sea had a great view. The gym room was quite well equipped and the view in the spa was also breathtaking. In general, the staff was helpful, especially those working in the front desk. The staff serving breakfast in the restaurant was friendly and helpful. But those working in the restaurants near the pools were rude and inattentive. The staff driving the buggy was another problem. They were rude and sometimes they just gave you a feeling that they didn't want you to take the buggy.

Nice retreat

Staff support, large and clean room, facilities
We were a family of 6 persons with a 10-months old baby, and we must stay this was a very nice very comfortable 5 days retreat. Rooms aver very spacious and clean. They have made the best to manage the fact that the road splits the hotel into 2 sections and you feel safe wherever you are in the resort. Staff has been extremely helpful when we lost our credit card in a local ATM machine, and they did follow up the case tip we recovered it. To be commanded. We will definitively come back

Extremely disappointing

We are extremely disappointed with our stay at the Nora Buri Resort. From the very first day the staff were rude and unhelpful. The first thing to note is that most of this hotel's rooms are built on a steep incline and the hotel provides buggy rides to and from your room as it's not practical to walk. Our first buggy ride was an exercise in survival, with the driver being rude and driving recklessly. On 2 other occasions we were refused a ride as buggies repeatedly went up and down past us ferrying other customers but never coming for us. On 1 occasion we called for a buggy (they usually took ~2 min) to take us to the lobby as we had dinner reservations elsewhere, and the buggy took 25 mins to get to us. Needless to say we were very late! Housekeeping were inefficient and inconsistent, at times coming into our room after one very brief knock and insisting on cleaning the room. After struggling to make them understand that we needed half an hour to get ready and then we would vacate, we would return 4 hours later to find the room not yet cleaned. The level of English comprehension of staff could do with considerable improvement. Considering this is a 5-star resort, not being able to communicate simple things was frustrating. While the food choices at breakfast were plentiful, staff were once again inattentive and inefficient. Ordering coffee was far more challenging than it should be, plates were not cleared from tables and food was not replenished quickly when it ran out at the buffet. Dining at the hotel was also disappointing, The selection of Thai food was limited and what was on offer was bland and unauthentic. The hotel's location is 5 minute from the airport and on a beach but is quite far removed from the centre, so if you want to be walking distance from restaurants, spas and shops, avoid this hotel. In conclusion, I would not return to this hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone. A waste of money and a wealth of unwanted stress.
