Lovely experience

Friendly staff, quiet neighbourhood, easy access
It has the 'home' feeling... this hotel is converted by terrace house in a quiet neighbourhood. The person in charge- an indian guy whom i forgot his name is very friendly. Breakfast is included with unlimited supply of bread, cheese, bacon, ham, eggs, juices in the fridge and you can have them anytime you wish-self cooking.. The room is comfy and clean. It's just a short walk to the main street with local fish and chips bar and other groceries stores, and also a pharmacy.. bus stop and train station is also within 5 mins walking...

Great for the budget traveller

Having an all day breakfast that you can cook yourself saves you a lot of money. The hotel host Mohammad was very helpful and polite, he even helped washing our clothes.
The negatives: Distance from the city was a bit of a downer as it would take us an hour to get there by bus. The shared bathroom could do with a better cleaning job and a new shower curtain. Walls are a bit thin and you can hear just about everything going on in other rooms. Some other guests can be lazy and not clean up their mess or wash their dishes in the shared kitchen. The positives: Free all day breakfast! As much cereals, eggs, toast, bacon, sausages, ham, cheese, juice, coffee as you can eat and drink! Bus stop right out the front of hotel and train station 2 minutes walk down the road. We would only take the bus as it was cheap to buy a 7 day unlimited bus pass whereas the train is quite expensive. Don't let his name worry you as Mohammad was the nicest and most helpful hotel host I have ever had!

Budget friendly hotel

Affordable rate, breakfast, staff
First of all, Norbury Aparthotel is a big townhouse which was converted to an inn. It is about 500 meters from the train station. It is in a multi-cultural neighborhood. There are a lot of shops and grocery stores nearby. However, there are no places of interest in Norbury. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. He was thorough in explaining how the breakfast arrangement works. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that guests prepare their own breakfast at their own time. There was a wide array of choices in the fridge from bacon, ham, salami, sausage to eggs and cheese. We were also given access to their laundry room which, after being on the road for 2 weeks, was a welcome amenity for us. The room was bigger than expected but didn't have a toilet of its own which proved to be an inconvenience especially in the morning. Internet was fast and free.

Great experience, will return again.

Easy access to public transport, clean and large room, friendly staff.
Booked this hotel for me and my parents, and we were really pleased with our stay here. Hotel is actually a terrace house with rooms that are rented out, hence, it was much bigger than the normal hotel rooms. Furthermore, facilities were well maintained, and room was clean and proper. Self-prepared breakfast in a hotel was a new experience, but nonetheless useful if you want to sleep in and wake up late. Selection was not alot, but definitely adequate for a good breakfast. Most importantly, we were served by a friendly and helpful gentleman, Jilson (sorry if it's the wrong spelling), and even though he hadn't been working there for long, was able to give us many information such as location of public transport, and where to get good food in the area. One thing to note if you're driving, parking at the hotel site is on first come first serve basis, or you will have to make do with street parking. Will definitely consider this hotel in the future.

They have a self catering system with all the food

cheap and clean
Overall it was fine but the room opened on to a flat roof and the window catches did not work so I couldn't lock the window. This made me uncomfortable. I told the staff but nothing was done about it. But it was excellent apart from that.
