On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this didnt last. There was a wedding in the hotel and after queuing for 5 mins tio get to the bar we were told that there was a private function and could we use the other bar. We found the other bar just in time for last orders but were told by the bar staff that the bar closed at 11.00 and we would have to take our drinks into the main lounge. We found the main lounge to be confronted by a large group of children from the wedding party playing football. we tried to get some food to be told the confectionary machine was available. ( The porter did manage to get us some crisps ) The room was warm and had all the necessary facilities but it was grubby to say the least and the carpets were really badly stained. The hotel was being decorated but we were in a room that had not been done. We were woken the next morning to cleaning staff having an argument outside our bedroom door about who should do what room next ( i had to ask them to be quiet ! ) Overall we needed a place to sleep and thats what we got. For the price we paid it was adequate but the the hotel needs a major clean up and a customer care review.

Adventure packed.
If you want fun, adventure, stress choose this hotel. Reception got the booking wrong from Agoda. Do take paper work as proof. Stayed for six nights my accompanying friend given a room in the attic. No ventilation or proper light. I had to barricade myself into my room over the weekend due to a two hour altication in the corridor outside. People taken to hospital. Finally my friend experienced a horrific incident due to a faulty tureen cover falling off. The down draft caused the heater to flash onto his trousers and ignite them. On a general side there was mould and dried blood on the walls, cracked sinks harbouring infestations, and the bucket seats were badly stained in both our bedrooms and the lounge areas. exposed electrical wires in the lounge. In the bar when we asked for a snack had to check chef could do it.We were made to feel not wanted. If you like this excitement choose this hotel. Incidentally The Manager did not respond at all.

Pleasant, clean and comfortable

Location, location, location - literally across the road from the station and very convenient for the places I wanted to visit
This is a pleasant hotel. Overall, it is a little bit tired looking but is gradually being redecorated and refurbished. My room was clean and comfortable and I had a good night's sleep

Architectural gem, warm welcome

Heritage, architecture, great staff
If you are looking for a 5* experience in a slick building with all the facilities that most corporate chain hotels deliver, then the North Stafford is not for you. If you appreciate hotel with a rich heritage, many beautiful features and staffed by genuine, hard working staff - then this could work for you.

Conveniently Located Hotel in City Centre

The location of this hotel is extremely convenient for travellers arriving by train as it located directly opposite Stoke-on-Trent Railway Station. The hotel has an air of faded grandeur. It does seem

Bath, leaving
I found the ad for the hotel very misleading, no wifi in rooms, no soaps, disinterested staff and breakfast was poor. TV not tuned in and too low to view in comfort from the bed.

Basic Hotel

Location, helpful staff. nice bathrom
Basic hotel, quite old and being refurbished, great location across the road from railway station and bus in the same street, young man on reception was particularly helpful with information about possible itinerary for the road trip back to Slough the next day, he answered many questions, no internet in the room, room was very hot but a fan was provided when asked for, nice bathroom which has been refurbished but main room was quite small and cramped.
