I really felt welcomed, the room was clean and kept tidy daily. Lots of noise from the street but that is part of the ambiance.

Better than it seems!

When we first arrived I was a bit nervous about the hotel. The stairs aren't very inviting, but quite safe. We got a bit confused about how to find our room, because it is in a separate part of the hotel, but when we found it we were quite happy. It was spacious and meticulously clean. The mattress, bedlinen and towels felt kind of cheap, but it is a budget hotel, and that is a sacrifice I am willing to make for a room so close to everything Montreal has to offer.
Our only gripe was parking (we ended up paying for three nights with no exits) - when we asked at the desk we were given vague instructions and ended up finding it ourselves.
Restaurant Tip:
Head up Boulevard Saint-Laurent, just around the corner from Hotel Abri Du Voyageur for shopping, bars and restaurants. We found this area on our last night in Montreal but wished we had found it on the first night. Lots to see, do, eat and drink!

Interesting Hotel - very nice people to help you

We stayed 2 days in this Hotel who is ideally located for visiting Montreal. Though initially we were hesitating as the hotel is located above adult shop ....
Hotel is not suitable for people with difficult mobility as there are no elevators and a lot of stairs.
Also the initial hotel description is not correct because announcing personnal bothroom for each room, which in reality is not thrue, ther are 2 common bthrooms and toilets per floor. It did not harm us as we were outside touristicall seasons and not very much people in the Hotel but it is not correct to not mention it. Also, we included the breakfast , wich was not served at the hotel (no restaurant) and was extremely limited, so not good value for monney
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The bus sight seeing tour is really giving a great feeling of Montreal good value for monney
