Great Stay at the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver
just the opposite of the well known pacific centre shopping mall, great bed, and great food
8.3
The moment we entered the hotel, We are already welcomed, and that's what makes me happy.
And when I find out that the location of the hotel is very good, I directly gave the hotel a 4 to 5 star rating.
If I were to visit vancouver again another day, I will definitely check if this hotel is available for my stay.

Great place to stay
Location. Helpful staff. Well-maintained, clean hotel. Concierge service excellent. Large rooms, comfortable bed and wonderful pillows!
9.3
I spend three nights at the Metropolitan in early December, and I couldn't be more pleased with the place. The location, half a block from the Vancouver Art Museum, is superb. The hotel is in the heart of downtown. Staff is attentive and helpful in every way. Complimentary internet in the Business Center was a plus. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Fast elevator appreciated since I was on the 14th floor.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Half a block from the Vancouver Art Museum, a fine place to spend a good part of a morning or afternoon.

Metropolitan Hotel BC
A great location and friendly staff. Not too big. Free WiFi in public areas. Good restaurant with local craft beers.
8.7
This is really a boutique hotel in a great location. A few blocks from the water and the Red Lion pub, and smakck in the middle of the shopping area (Robson Street, for example). Cafes and restaurants abound. The Diva restaurant in the hotel has a great wine selection and craft beers on tap. Free WiFi in the public areas and a very attentive staff including a great head concierge. This as my 2nd stay and will be my Vancouver hotel in the future.
Restaurant Tip:
The Red Lion pub just a few blocks away (towards the water) is a classic British pub with great food.

Metropolitan Hotel
location was great, room was very clean and employees were very helpful
8.7
the hotel was very nice, great location to shopping restaurants, etc, staff were courteous and friendly, however when we checked in we were surpirsed to find out that our room was a twin room. therefore my wife and i could not sleep in the same bed, other than that check in was simple , check out was also a breeze and no lineups for service. i would definately go to this hotel again but because our room was a standard, we got twin beds.
Restaurant Tip:
Nice pub with excellent food very close to hotel - St REGENTS.

excellent stay
The hotel is very close to shopping and eating places in heart of downtown Vancouver.
9.3
We got an upgrade to a junior suite which is really nice. It's a modern and clean hotel and just across the Four Season's Hotel. The night was quiet even with construction beside it. I think if the hotel will be fully booked, the parking might be a problem if you're bring in a car. But almost everything is within walking distance from this hotel.
Travel tip:
Everything is just close by..

Short, but sweet!
-welcoming valet service
-quick check-in
-interestingly shaped room rather than standard rectangle
-nice finishes in room
-speakers in bathroom
-lots of bedside storage; niche for bags (if a short stay), or overhead cupboards & drawers (for unpacking for a longer stay)
-12 pm check-out time
8.7
My husband and I ended up checking in around 8 pm, so didn't have too long to enjoy the beautiful room. We agree with other reviews in that it is a hidden gem in the midst of downtown. Liked the tasteful decor and the interesting use of space, both for room and overall hotel layout. It shows much more creativity for your standard rectangular boxes off the long narrow hallway! Large hot tub on 3rd floor was a great way to unwind--nice lighting and great pressure on the jets! We will return when we can stay longer and take advantage of the amenities--my husband says it's his new favorite Vancouver hotel!

This hotel was an excellent value. Service was everything one would expect for the rating. The room - spacious, well setup and quiet despite a building site next door. (also a note had been left in the room indicating when to expect activity on the site).
My lunch in the restaurant was very well conceived, executed and served, the wine with it was very good.
The only thing not smooth and polished about service during my stay was mini bar servers walking into room within minutes of me arriving there. I had been given very early access to the room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
A short walk to the water front with it's hydroplanes, views, etc.

This was a charming, modern, European style hotel. A small lobby but a nice restaurant and bar just off the lobby with a good selection of wines and beers on tap. Free wifi access in the lobby and restaurant was a nice touch. Professional and friendly staff.
Nightlife Tip:
The Lion Pub is nearby and offers a traditional pub atmosphere and menu oferings, along with a great beer selection.

Short stopover in Vancouver BC
Helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgable staff at the front desk. Hotel gym is a generous size and well set up. Pool is an amazing feature. Business services including internet access is free from the business centre. The "Met" is right in the heart of things in downtown Vancouver BC. The monorail station and Pacific Place shopping mall is about 1 city block away.
8.3
I stayed at the "Met", as it is known, for only one night being in Vancouver BC for a short stopover on business. I was impressed by being greeted by helpful and friendly hotel staff and was able to check in a little earlier than expected. The hotel has a business centre from which it is free to access emails and relatively cheap for short-run printing of documents. The pool and gymnasium area was impressive. Rooms were spacious, very comfortable and had the latest amenities. There was an excellent range of complementary products in the bathrooms; I unpacked surprisingly little from my suitcase. Views may be limited from some rooms, but it's acceptable for a short stay or if you like skyscrapers. Transport and access to Vancouver BC attractions are very easy from the Met, as the city is relatively pedestrian-friendly.
Restaurant Tip:
Skip the Diva - walk along Robson to the west end for substantial sushi and excellent noodles.
