BEAUTIFUL VIEW, comfortable beds, friendly staff
On-site restaurants, beach not as relaxing
Balcony window had a BEAUTIFUL VIEW of the ocean and pools. The beds are nice and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked how they would leave a bottle of water after cleaning the rooms. For cons, DO NOT EAT at any of the restaurants at the hotel, especially the hotel restaurant. A group of my friends went downstairs for dinner to avoid traffic. A friend of mine ordered a chicken dish with nopal (cactus) and the last 2 bites were RAW. Thank goodness he didn't get sick, but it was sick to look at once we saw it was raw. You're better off eating somewhere across the street like at El Fogon, the restaurant right next to El Fogon, Vips and some seafood restaurant called Bimbos, or something like that. Overall experience was nice, just wished the beach was more relaxing. Too many people come up to you asking if you want to buy their items. When one person sees you buying one thing, then they all start coming up to you. One service I do recommend is getting a massage - my friends & I got it for $10 each (100 pesos). It was great!!! (FYI - stayed there last weekend of November to December 2, 2008).
Shopping Tip : If you want to exchange money, there are a couple of locations closeby (go to the bank - Bancomex or something like that - they have a higher exchange rate). If you're looking for souvenirs, buy them at the beach; you'll probably get a better deal. Otherwise, you can visit the mercados nearby.

Lush gardens, very good Thai restaurant, two big and one VIP swimming pools.
The safe in our room did not work. The hotel did not fix it during our stay (room no. 729).
We stayed at the hotel during Mexican holidays (15 Sept.). However it was very quiet. With its 3 swimming pools (one general, one for adults only and one smaller and very quiet VIP pool) and lush gardens, you never get bored. Be sure to get a room in the tower above the reception desk. It seems that those are newer and more quiet.
Restaurant Tip : Go to the nearby Restaurant/Bar "Barba Roja". They have good food and lively night entertainment (dance and shows performed by their staff).
