Beautiful colonial style with a colorful history. Modern facilities, including bathroom, bed and bedding, soundproof windows and doors. Close to downtown attractions. Helpful staff.

Would like to see better use of rooftop garden and bar area.

This stay was a wonderful surprise for us. We had walked by this hotel several times without ever looking beyond the lobby. It has a very colonial and upscale appearance. The surprise was in the rooms. Each room is a suite, with a bedroom, sitting room and a very modern bathroom. Both bedroom and sitting room have large television sets; convenient for when one person stays up. The interior of the hotel has many antique pieces distributed in various sitting areas with good light for reading, relaxing or meditating. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Guadalajara.

Restaurant Tip : Two of the best local restaurants are within 2 blocks of the hotel. La Gorda and La Chata. Excellent food at a reasonable price.

The rooms are spacious, the staff is courteous and efficient. The dining area clean and the breakfast buffet is excellent.

There is nothing that we disliked

I could not imagine a better place to stay in Guadalajara. For the tourist it is centrally located in the historic district. There is NOTHING negative that I could possible say about this magnificent find. The rooms are tastefully appointed, the Imperial Suite is terrific. Try the jacuzzi! This was our first stay in Guadalajara and our next visit will definitely be a re-booking at this fine hotel

Restaurant Tip : El Sacramonte is out of this world... try the Roquefort chipotle soup, divine.

Location, Friendly Staff

No a\c in common areas, got a little warm.

My wife and I took our two daughters on this trip, the motel staff was helpful and courteous, the rooms are great with comfortable beds. The motel is within walking distance to several market areas and historic buildings. The motel employees their own drivers and cars to get you where you want to go. Also good resturants in the area.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Trip to city of Tequila, Set up with Hotel staff

The hotel had Colonial Charm. Beds were great. nice showers with lots of hot water and big fluffy towels

No DVD with TV. A little short on places to unpack cloths. The concierge did not have much knowledge of tours and sight seeing opportunities, it was like he just moved to Guadalajara. I had to ask a desk clerk to fill me in on the bus schedule and routes. I still am unclear as to if there is an underground

My daughter who is 13 y/o and I just spent a week at the Morales. I thought the restaurant served pretty good food at a reasonable price. For Mexican food we eat at La Chata which is a couple of blocks toward the Plazs de Armes. The hotel is central to most of the things you want to see. Unlike previous reviews I have read I thought the staff's English ranged from excellent to poor. My daughter and I speak Spanish but if you speak none it could be a small problem.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I wasn't enthusiastic about going on the tour to Tequila but take it as we really enjoyed it.

Charming, inexpensive, clean, tidy, and with a/c and air circulation system. Staff very attentive, to point they woke us early for a very early morning flight because of a bad storm in the night. Room not palacial like the Tapatio, but then Tapitio isn't right in center of city.

None

the Agoda price important, and enticed us to try Morales instead of using another hotel where we have stayed many other times. Physical condition of hotel immaculate. Staff grand. Not being a complainer, I found the Morales to be just grand. Location could not be better. I suspect it is possible that some outside rooms could be noisy as it is the center of the city. Restaurant nothing special, but quite adequate.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Cathedral, Degollado, Libertad Market (largest market under one roof in Ltin America), and Cabanas a 3 to 5 block walk.

Very clean and in great condition

Don't take guided tour company they offer

This is a very good hotel for the money and the discount rate from Agoda is almost 60 percent the hotel charges. Rooms are renovated and looks like new. Staff was very good and breakfast was great also. Also it was two minutes walk from Centro Historic and that's a plus.

Beautiful interior, excellent staff (both front counter and valet parking), great location

Lack of refrigerator

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at. It is very typically colonial in style, the foyer is just incredible with a fountain and lounge. I was greeted with sincerity and provided with my room on arrival (approximately noon). It was an interior room, which was very quiet. Full valet parking was also included with the excellent room rate on Agoda - what a treat!! The room was spacious with nice furnishings and bathroom with an extra large shower. There was plenty of hot water with good pressure! This hotel is located a few short blocks away from Plaza de Armas, the main cathedral, Palacio del Gobierno, Teatro Degollado and the Regional Museum. There are also several good and reasonable restaurants close by.

Restaurant Tip : Go to La Chata Restaurant - the food was hot, fresh and reasonably priced!

Historic. Very comfortable beds. Nicely decorated rooms. Great bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food and great music. Felt so safe.

The construction just outside the front door.

I highly recommend this hotel. This was our first time to guadalajara and we lucked out staying here. The price was great and we loved the history of the building. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are very comfortable. We stayed on almost top floor. I would recommend this one. We will stay here again, that is a definite. Thank you, Hotel Morales.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Just a step away from the center of downtown to view other incredible architecture.

historical, modern, beatiful courtyard, only kind of hotel you will find from around the world.

construction around the hotel made the traffic congestion, business contacts did not know about this hotel but were impressed after visiting.

historical hotel with modern conveniences would be the most accurate description of this hotel. i am used to high rise, modern hotels. but, this is only five stories high - historical, (almost to the feel of LOFT) but very modernized interiors. this is one of the kind hotel that i would recommend if you are tired of same kind of hotel experiences.

Beautifully appointed, lovely neo-classical design. Very clean and well looked-after. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Quiet, but centrally located to all downtown attractions. Good restaurant facilities. Pleasant entertainment on Thur. & Fri. nights.

Room was a trifle dark because of being an inside room, but was consequently very quiet. The shower leaked water to the bathroom, requiring the use of a towel to sop up the over-flow. The roof-top bar was not in use which was a shame since the view and surroundings there were very charming.

My husband and I just returned from a week's stay at the Hotel Morales and were very pleased with how we were treated and the hotel's staff and facilities. It has a great location, close to all of Guadalajara's downtown attractions, as well as many restaurants and shops. The hotel is very clean and well-looked after. The staff are friendly and helpful, eg. the concierge arranged a tequilla tour for us and aided us in finding out where the charreadas were held on Sundays; also staff arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport at the end of our stay at 5:00am. Some of the staff speak English which was an advantage at times. The hotel is elegantly decorated, rooms spacious with comfortable beds. We were delighted with our choice, particularly at the price that Agoda offered.

beautiful interior decoration, restaurant, location

no downsides, unless you want a hyper modern hotel

beautiful colonial hotel across the street from a nice little church and a 15 min walk to the main squares and cathedral of guadalajara. everything from the facade to the lobby to the rooms is decorated in old spanish colonial style. from the balconies inside you can look down to gardens and fountains inside the hotel and the hallways are decorated like old mexican mansions. the breakfast buffet is amazing and will fill your belly for the rest of the day. they also have a rooftop terrace with a view across the whole city. plenty of restaurants in the neighbourhood including an awesome mexican snackbar across the street and a juice bar next doors. great deal for the price.

A perfect place to rest in the middle of a busy city, truly an oasis. The convenience of the buses when we wanted to see other areas of Guadalupe was a big plus. Walking distance to so many sites another big plus.

The hard bed and the noise level in the unit where we staying.

The first word that came to my mind when we walked into the hotel was what an oasis. The staff was so kind and helpful to our needs and we truly appreciate the hospitality of having a home away from home. It made our time of exploration of Guadalajara so much better when we have the time to rejuvenate at Hotel Morales.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Wear appropriate footwear, the city is best appreciated while you wander around.

excellent location, nice service, comfortable

slight noise in the atrium at night

Morales is the best hotel for tourist due to the location, service, and price. The rooms are comfortable. The restaurant is also recommended, though there is a larger sampling of mexican food outside. Highly recommended for the tourist as well as local visitors.
