Groups Australia, February 14, 2013	Historic hotel in central location Location, decor 7 This was our first trip to Mexico City and the hotel was a good choice because of its location close to the Zocalo, Palacio Nacional, cathredral and other historic sites. The hotel itself has rather a faded grandeur, but is comfortable and the staff are helpful and polite. The lobby and stained glass roof are spectacular, and the general decor is slightly over-the-top art deco. The internet connection is slow (if that's important to you). There are surprisingly few good restaurants in this central area - more of the fast food and coffee chain variety - but the hotel's own rooftop restaurant and bar are worth a visit for its good Mexican and international cuisine, passable wine list and excellent views over the Zocalo and nearby heritage buildings. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: You are just around the corner from the Turibus stop on the Zocalo, which is useful for first-time visitors to get a quick orientation to Mexico City. If you catch the Turibus, you can also swap to the southern route at the stop in La Condesa - this will take you to Coyoacan (fantastic restaurants and village ambience) and the Frida Kahlo museum (Casa Azul) - a handy alternative to taking public transport or a relatively expensive taxi ride all the way down there.
Chung M. Couples Hong Kong, December 16, 2012	Great location & good service Location is very convenient. Their terrace offers view of the zocalo and it's just 3 min walk to Metro station. The Lobby & room is nicely decorated with a touch of Victorian style. 9.3 We like this hotel and the service. Apparently this is a hotel with history, but they have keep it at very good condition and catch up with time. They do offer free wifi which was not mentioned in the Agoda page. The only thing that they may improve is on noise control or wall material to make it less noisy.
Chung M. Couples Hong Kong, December 14, 2012	Good location, good service & good room Very convenient location, near main tourist spots & metro station, feel safe when walking around the hotel. The staff are also friendly & keen to help. 9.3 I am overall happy with my stay just that the room is not sound proof at all and probably because I was staying in weekend, there was party in the hotel and the band sound was so loud even at 2am! Moreover, the economy double is surprisingly much bigger than the deluxe Queen! Unless I got an upgrade without knowing it. By the way, they do offer free wifi in the hotel and also complimentary tea & coffee at the lobby.
