This unique character hotel between the Centro Historico and the Zona Rosa offers warm hospitality and good value accommodation. A few blocks south of the Paseo de la Reforma, the Posada Viena Hotel is a brightly adorned establishment with abundant Mexican charm. Painted in vivid pinada colors, the interiors are decorated with folk art and assorted curios resulting in an atmosphere that's convivial and homely. The hotel is two blocks to the nearest metro station, a 15-minute walk to the Paseo de la Reforma and a short cab or bus ride to Chapultepec Park. This area is safe to wander around in even at night, which is precisely when the bar and restaurant scene of nearby Zona Rosa comes to life.

Hotel Mexico City

Good value for $30 a night that I paid. Easy Metro access; good restaurant attached.

Enjoyed my stay. The room was large with a comfortable bed. Very good value at the price I paid..c$30 a night, but at the rate quoted at reception c$80 a night it would not have been.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Use the Metro to get around Mexico City. Only 3 Pesos a time (c25 cents). Best not to travel in the rush hour or late at night though. The city feels safe as armed policeman are very high profile.

Charming hotel in peaceful, green neighbourhood

Non-discrimination policy in full view at reception. Nice.

the posada vienna hotel is a gem in the leafy heart of the zona rosa. decorated in the brilliant colours typical of mexico, each room has a unique character. the wi-fi works in the rooms, the breakfast is decent and the location is excellent. what else do you need!
Restaurant Tip: Argentinian restaurant next door is very good

Posada Vienna - funky and cool

Great decor, quiet and relaxed
8.7
Posada Vienna is a really cool hotel - especially the wonderful funky Mexican folk art and decor. It's also very quiet and relaxed, which is fairly unusual for the heart of frantic, noisy Mexico City! It's a good location - 2 blocks from a Metro stop, and close (but not too close) to the city center. It seems that Mexicans like harder beds and pillows than Americans do, but that was about the only thing we didn't like. The price is excellent and service is great - so we didn't care that the breakfast that was supposed to be included really didn't pan out, or that we only got one bottle of free water and had to buy the rest at a whopping 50 pesos (that's about 40 cents, I think - try buying bottled water for that amount in the US!) On the whole, we loved it. Would definitely recommend it to any friends traveling to Mexico City.
Restaurant Tip: The Argentinian restaurant connected to the hotel is very pricey (for Mexico City), but fantastic food. Take some of the money you save by staying at Posada Vienna, and treat yourself!
