Great value at great location

this was a return visit to the park plaza hotel for me and i'm really glad i gave it a second chance. this time i reserved a room with two beds instead of one and that made all the difference. the price is not much higher and the room was much more spacious. this is a lovely hotel in a great, central location, close to restaurants and transportation. you definitely want to book through agoda -- the hotel's online price offers are higher!
Restaurant Tip:
The hotel is just around the corner from a branch of the Legal Seafood chain -- and this branch has a fabulous wine list in addition to the usual good seafood dishes. The clam chowder is perfect.

Classic Hotel and Good Value -- but be Careful!

Beautiful old hotel in central location and great value -- though you have to pay attention to pricing. This once classy hotel is now filled with tour groups; but its price usually makes it an exceptional value. I say "usually" because their prices change every day! Apparently they change room rates depending on availabilty -- AND you have to pay attention and defend the price you get. I'm an American living overseas so I can negotiate extremely well in English -- but I think a foreigner would have had to pay. The manager eventually gave in and we are not talking about a lot of money -- but the encounter showed me that management's attitude is not nearly as classy as the hotel itself. The hotel has also gotten a few bedbug reports -- I can't confirm, but it's something to check wherever you go on the East Coast of the USA.
Restaurant Tip:
right around the corner from great value restaurant -- Legal Seafoods -- and this particular branch of the chain is the one with the best and longest wine list!

Great location with serviceable mind officers!
Great location, clean room, professional concierge and front desk officers.

after checking in and i went out for dinner, when i came back i was unable to get into my room because the key card was out of order, i informed the front desk and she changed the new card for me but still out of order. she then called the security and told me to wait in front of my room. i had been waiting for nearly an hour. the security came and could not enter either. he said he had to take his computer to release the lock. i came down to the front desk and told, another officer that i wanted to have a new room. did it for me right away. anyway, i had to wait for the security to open my previous room to take my baggage out. apart from this i had a pleasant stay at this hotel.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
go on the trolley tour. you will get a quick review of Boston. The do the walking trail yourselves.

An diesen Ort gehe ich nicht mehr hin. Zwar ein sehr schönes altes Gebäude, aber die totale Massenabfertigung, unpersönlich und nicht gastfreundlich. Beispiele:
- Zimmerschlüssel funktioniert nicht, mehrere Male muss ich mich darum kümmern, dass wieder jemand kommt und mir aufschliesst
- bei Erkundigung, ja es gibt einen Shuttle zum Flughafen, den man sich aber im total überfüllten 'Business-corner' selber organisieren muss, was sich im Nachhinein als überflüssig rausstellt
- pro Tag sind 30 Minuten Internet gratis in der Lobby, danach kostet es - nicht zeitgemäss
