The best inn I've ever stayed
Services, Cleanliness of the room
I stayed at this inn with my mom for two consecutive days. The staffs were always very kind and showed eagerness to help. I spent other two days at The Irving House which is closer to the Harvard campus, but Mary Prentiss Inn was better in every conceivable aspect other than the location. My mom and I were quite surprised and pleased to discover on a dining table some delicious cookies that the staffs made for the customers. But it wasn't the end of what distinguished this inn from others. For the second day of our stay, I barely made a reservation for a room which they initially described as smaller than the first room, but what a surprise! They put us into a better room which even features a nice refrigerator and a beautifully decorated, spacious bathroom for no additional charge! If you're going to stay near Harvard campus and looking for one that is the best for price, look no further.

everything was great
historic house, pretty,food breakfast
My husband and I stayed at Prentiss Inn for a conference at Harvard Law School. It was within walking distance to HLS and to both T stops on either side of the Inn.
Prentiss Inn was very pretty - very New England. The bed was luxurious and comfortable and the room spacious. It was helpful to have a microwave since we had jet lag and often needed something warm to eat or drink at 3 am.I also liked the pink bathroom.
Breakfast was great everyday! Service was good and professional.
The only thing I wished it had was a living room to sit in, the only common area was the dining room which was too busy and one couldn't sit longer to read the papers or talk after meals since there were often other clients wanting to have breakfast. The only other option was the patio but since it was very cold, it wasn't wasn't very usable.
Overall, the Prentiss Inn was a wonderful find.

Abundant charm and a great value.
Friendly staff, convenient location, cozy and very well maintained.
My parents stayed here on a visit to Boston. They loved it. It has a very friendly B&B vibe, and all the modern conveniences you would likely need, while keeping it's old world charm.
I know they would gladly stay there again. I was impressed with the cleanliness and all the little touches (like chocolates, and tea, and breakfast) which make it a stand-out. They also had a little 'reading nook' in their room which was so charming! An armchair, lamp and footrest perfect for a quiet evening or rainy day.
