Great Location

This is a great hotel to stay at if you are visiting Chicago and wanting to see the city and doing some shopping. It is well located and is close to a number of really good restaurants and of course to all the shopping on Magnificent Mile.
The rooms are small but very comfortable, I had a large bathroom this time around.
There is only one elevator and this is very slow and it can take a while if the hotel is full and at busy times.
When you are used to Asian hotels the breakfast is very disappointing, but then in the US, guess that one should not expect more.
So all said a good stay.

Great weekend in Chicago!

This hotel has got to be one of the best values in the city. Although not cheap, the location and quality are certainly worth the money. Being only a block for the Water Tower and walking distance to the Rush and State entertainment area was the best. We walked to most of the things we had planned for the weekend. The $5 breakfast was OK if you were just wanting to get going in the morning, but one of the most fun things at the hotel was the elevator. I had read about it knocking sounds coming from the walls as it moved from floor to floor but this became a contest of morass code for my wife and I. It would knock and I would knock back. Being on the 9th floor gave us plenty of time to pass messages back and forth.
We had a great time!
Nightlife Tip:
Walk a few block north were Rush and State street come together. I thing the party goes on 24 hours.

I arrived there and found the place quiet easy and intresting, the hotel is well located and easy access to the main transportation side of things, the room was quite clean and the housekeeping was great, i only found the lady at the front never smiled and found it hard to approx her for help.

Tremont Hotel - Chicago
Great location one half block from the Magnificent Mile and Water Tower Place.

This was our third stay at the hotel. The staff has always been most helpful and friendly. This time we had two issues and both were attended to quickly and effectively. We had no issues in our previous two visits.
The location is excellent and the rates are reasonable. The rooms have always been clean, we've had a mini-fridge, and the wireless Internet has worked well.
Connected to the Tremont is Mike Ditka's restaurant which offers a reasonably priced continental breakfast
Shopping Tip:
Close to Water Tower Place and Bloomingdales.

Basic, but great value
Excellent location, just a couple of minutes walk from Michigan Avenue. Room was clean and comfortable. Free wifi.

This is a perfectly pleasant, city centre hotel that provided excellent value when booked through agoda.com. The room was fine; bed reasonably comfortable, large tv, working bathroom with shower and bath. In short, fine for a business trip although my ability to simply hole up and work was severely hampered by the lack of room service and (in the mornings) any coffee maker. There was a starbucks opposite, though. The internet connection was free, and reliable, if a little slow.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
As ever in Chicago, don't pay to get to the top of one of the tall buildings but have a drink in the bar at the top of the Hancock tower which is just up the road.

downtown, thermometer on shower, good steak at the restaurant below although a little pricey for me.

The hotel was right where we needed to be, quirky coin system for breakfast, wrong kind of bowls for cereal. Took a while to find the back elevator when the front one was busy.
