A few issues with the room.
Suitable room, good location, good price, and complimentary drinks, appetizers, and massage during happy hour all contributed to a worthwhile stay that I'm likely to repeat if back in Denver. Their old-timey elevators were also fun to see/use. The room was quiet, and I had no problem with noise from adjacent rooms. Their continental breakfast wasn't stellar, but grabbing an apple and a muffin sufficed for my morning meal. The plumbing in my bathroom was not the best: the sink didn't drain well and sometimes smelled pretty gross, but that could have been unique to my room. Also, the TV was a pain to use, as the remote was finicky and inconsistent, but ultimately usable (when I was being patient) and, again, may have been unique to my room/remote. If the price stays right though, I'm likely to come back to the Comfort Inn Downtown if I'm back in Denver.
Restaurant Tip : Los Cabos II, on Champa, a couple buildings southwest of 16th, had really delicious, cheap, Peruvian food on an awesome lunch buffet. I wouldn't miss it if I ever come back to Denver.

It's centrally located, safe neighborhood, valet parking, a block from the 16th street mall, 15 minutes walk from art museum, easy drop off and pick up using supershuttle service, tour packages bookable with Brown Plaza across the street, 24 h business center with free and fast internet, weekday happy hour with free alcohol beverage, pop corn and snacks, fresh and good continental breakfast, coffee, chocolate and tea dispensing machine in lounge 24h, responsive front desk service, friendly and helpful staff, efficient housekeeping.
slow elevators, card keys that requires several swap to open the door room and business center, "happy hour" was not well explained by the particular staff who checked me in.
Denver is without question a city with a lot to offer, for a casual tourist or a short stay business traveler, a conveniently located hotel with reliable and essential services are key for a cost effective traveling, Comfort Inn Downtown fits the bill, it is just a block from the colorful 16th Street Mall, even though it is in the south-eastern end of the Mall, the free shuttle will take you from one end to another, on the north western end of the Mall you will find the Union Station, a local transportation hub. The hotel has its own valet parking, even though it relies on the Brown Plaza across the street for all the concierge's need, car renting, tour packages... etc, the room was clean and pretty standard with a clean bathroom with shampoo and soap, quick hot water with good pressure, the room service is efficient and nearly invisible, no newspaper in the mornings, room noise insulation standard, a/c quick and adjustable, tv/cable/movie/games standard, for grown ups, a good 24h all you can watch adult package, friendly and helpful staff seems to be the standard, complementary alcohol beverage for weekday happy hour with snacks, 24 h tea/coffee/chocolate dispensing machine in lounge, 24 h fast internet access with free printing in the business center, no fax, good continental breakfast with fresh fruits, yogurt, juice, eggs, sausages, potatoes, oatmeal, corn flakes... unless you are into luxuries, excesses or a highly personalized definition of "comfort", it is my opinion that Comfort Inn Downtown really lives up its name and I recommend it without reserve as a great choice for future visits to Denver, short business or pleasure trips, not honeymoons
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : if you want to take a tour package, plan your trip with the tour schedule in mind, otherwise you might find the available tours which are many, they all needs half day or more and the departure or arrival time might conflict with your check in/out time.

Great location and good value.
Room was a bit small, internet service was intermittent.
We spent almost a week there. The room was clean and had all of the usual amenities. The location was very convenient, with many dining and entertainment opportunities within easy walking distance, as was the convention center. The staff were uniformly friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was convenient and well prepared but pretty typical. Our only glitch was that the wireless internet access kept dumping us off and we had to constantly reconnect every 15 minutes or so. The bathroom was clean but quite cramped. The hairdryer was broken upon our arrival. A substitute dryer was provided but had anemic power. Maintenance came quickly to take the old dryer away, and indicated they would install a new one but never returned. We had no issues with noise at all.
Restaurant Tip : A wide variety of dining and entertainment is available in the 16th st mall just a block away.
