On the gulf beach with sugar white sand; a wonderful well stocked outdoor tiki bar; clean well maintained swimming pool; outdoor deck.
Wi-fi only available outside and not inside room; TV's reception was poor; Cafe food at hotel only mediocre;
We've been to the Outrigger on three previous occasions and enjoyed each of our stays. This year we noticed they replaced the parking lot pavement with brick paver blocks. Certainly a nice touch, BUT we thought there should have been other improvements before the parking lot. For instance, our mattress could have been replaced as it was bowing, the TV reception was poor, and nowadays, it is practically a standard enimity to have Wi-fi available inside the room. We could only receive Wi-fi outside on the deck. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and the staff is always friendly.
Restaurant Tip : Charley's restaurant across the street is a good place to dine and so is the South Beach Grill just a few blocks south of the hotel.

Fine beach; clean and well-maintained room; very friendly staff; good value.
Heavy construction on site during our 5-day stay; pool closed for construction; dust and noise a problem.
I would recommend the Outrigger for families and those looking for a relaxed scene on a very fine stretch of beach. The facility was well-located and the staff was extraordinary in people skill. It was unfortunate that we stayed during a period of heavy construction on the site, but would stay again if assured that there was no construction going on.
Restaurant Tip : The "Munch Box" across the street a fine breakfast or lunch spot.

Position, close to Sanibel and Captiva, very nice beach, nice Tiki bar on the beach.
Not so luxurious, more a motel than a resort.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Sanibel and Captiva.
