Fantastic location only twenty feet from the rim where you can enjoy the incredible sunrise makes the Thunderbird Lodge a smart choice. And for getting around the area it can be done on foot. With Kanchana right near by as well as El Tovar and the Blue Angel you won't be for want of dining options. Take in some of the Native American traditional dances or just go for nice hikes around the rim. Deer come right up to your window at the Thunderbird. Large bucks and small doe are a wonderful site in the early morning light. Don't forget to bring your camera! The rooms here are big, offer air-conditioning and wonderful views and a hot bath, what else could you want this close to the Grand Canyon? The accommodation is refreshing after a day of hiking and exploring the natural wilderness.
