Throwback Hotel with Personality
Great location, good service, near ocean, slow paced atmosphere, and retro hotel

It's a great place to base your excursions to the rest of Big Island. It's right next to the ocean. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated, but its clean and friendly. The retro feel is actually quite welcomed and gives it personality versus the same old uniform-looking business type hotels that are so common now. Highly recommended if you want to relax and step into yesteryear.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Mauna Kea's visitor center has free tours to the top of the mountain and free star gazing guides --- highly worth it!

Our Stay in Hilo
Closeness to Coconut Island and downtown Hilo.

I was a little concerned at first about the hotel. the Hotel looked a little dated but once we got settled and asking questions regarding what to see and how to talk to, things started to pick up. I thank the staff for making our visit so special. I would use Agoda, stay at Seaside again

Akaka falls is a must, Coconut Island, Downtown Hilo and Volcano national park.
