The good old Ala Moana Hotel has been renovated, and it's clean and modern. Comfortable. But the best feature is its prime location, right next to the giant Ala Moana Shopping Center, as well as being across the from the beach and convenient to major roads leading in all directions. Very big hotel, it seems rather deserted sometimes, in the absence of the crowds of tourists that usually are a feature of other Waikiki hotels. Consequently, there is almost no lively restaurant scene at the hotel, though its proximity to a host of eateries nearby easily compensates for that. Rooms in the Kona Wing are on the smallish side. A clean, spacious hotel newly renovated. Quite comfortable, and in a choiced location. Good price, compared to other hotels in Waikiki. Would definitely stay at the Ala Moana again.
