the room is pretty old but the location is hard to beat. would recommend it if you aren't too picky about your room and wanna save some money on lodging. the front desk staffs are pretty friendly and helpful too!

Clean, cheap and noisy

the wind was blowing at 25 knots and found every crevice and loose door in the suite. the loose doors were extremely noisy. during the evening before the wind started up the noise from the bums on the street in front of the hotel was irritating. after that i appreciated the wind and all the noise it created. the hotel is clean, secure and provides the basic amenities for the price.

Was far from the hotel parking lot when you rent a car. When moving on foot in Waikiki, very convenient to go anywhere in the heart of Waikiki hotels. I am close to the bus stop.

Great location, close to DFS and ABC. Clean room with kitchenette. The smell is terrible. No free wifi is provided, but can access Marriott free wifi at the street corner.

The smell is terrible. Bed and chairs are 30 years old, the shower is 40 years old. The only new thing is the TV (Plasma). The standard is lower than a typical youth hostel. Parking 20 US Dollars per night, Internet 9 per 24 h oder 26 per week. Dirty everything - you should better spend a little more money to stay somewhere else. The toilett was not working two out of the three days. The employees are friendly.
Restaurant Tip:
two doors direction beach is a good thai restaurant (15 US Dollars) for a take away meal.

Well they say you get what you pay for and it's certainly true for this budget accommodation. At best I'd rate this place as adequate. It was extremely dated (as with a lot of Waikiki properties) and is in urgent need of an upgrade. The sofa and bed were extremely hard and uncomfortable, bathroom was scummy and dark and balcony looked out onto a multi level car park. the staff were lovely.
Restaurant Tip:
If travelling in peak season (as we did) either make sure you have a reservation for dinner or go early (5-5.30pm) as everywhere fills fast and waits were long.

Great location, but not clean

The hotel is situated in a really convenient location; it's close to the beach, close to the supermarket, close to all of the bars and restaurants on Kuhio, close to the big stores on Kalakaua Avenue, and a fifteen-minute walk to the Ala Moana shopping area. Many of the guests that stayed there seemed to be regulars and were very friendly. While the room itself was comfortable, our biggest qualm was cleanliness. Not long after arriving, our one-year-old's feet and knees were black from crawling on the carpet. In addition, there were sticky and rough patches in the carpet...not at all pleasant, especially considering the baby. After I said something to the front desk staff, they had the carpet shampooed, which made things slightly better. Also, on the negative side, the shower head is fixed to the wall, and there is no tub, so bathing a little one is a challenge at best. The lack of free Internet is also a downer. Overall, though, for a young couple on a budget, this hotel would definitely do the trick.
Shopping Tip:
The hotel is very close to the supermarket, which has all kinds of prepared or simple-to-prepare foods. The kitchen in the room is handy, but there isn't a whole lot of space to work with, so the less work, the better. There is also an ABC store half a block away, and a Whalers store across from that.
