Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Our stay here was hassle free. Close to everything and had excellent staff. Also a nice cafe on the ground floor which serve a yummy breakfast. Comfortable bed for our over night stay.

Budget Hotel Away from beach (45 min walk away).
Price is great; sushi eatery, bar downstairs, plus Cream Pot (Breakfast only to 2 PM)
8.3
room has coffee pot, microwave and small fridge. across the street is an abc which sells tv dinners and also there is a waikiki cheeseburger. the king's hawaiian bread is the best i have ever tasted and i have been to paris several times.
Travel tip:
Cream pot is great but expensive ($14-15 for french toast and a cup of coffee but I live in Las Vegas and am used to breakfast buffets for $5.99 in the casinos.
Waikiki Cheeseburger is 1 block away.
Sushi eatery is on first level but since I don't eat raw fish I don't know how good they are. Cream pot restaurant is also on first level (open from 6 AM to 2 PM).
This place used to have a gigantic pool but they have changed it to a pool that is about 1/10 the size. It's also not heated so I was only in it for 2 minutes.
The bar downstairs has happy hour pizza slices for $1. They were very good. If you are on a budget, this was a great place to stay.

Great Customer Service and Great Location
tourist info, great location, easy access to abc shops and bus stops
8
great location - easy to go to bus stops (which are not far away) also just a 15 minute walk to waikiki beach.
Hotel could be updated a little but is very comfortable. i have not major complaints.
Staff are all friendly and willing to help you work out buses and trips.
Shopping Tip:
Go to the outlet shopping place 30 mins out of town. ring the outlet customer service help line for a shuttle, it costs $5 each way but worth it.. the outlets save you heaps of $$ compared to the almona shopping centre.
take the bus to diamond head - do not do a tour. bus is 2.50 with a transfer (however you may run out of time and need to purchase another 2.50 ticket) entry is only $1 to diamond head. great location and walk but you do not need a tour guide!! this wil save you at least $20 or so.

While this hotel was located about a 10 minute walk from the Waikiki beach it was very reasonably priced for the normally high Hotel Costs. They have a pool and very large sun Deck on the 6th floor.
Hotel Feature Tip:
While the Monarch does not have WiFi the Kings pub (located in the ground floor) had free WiFi.

Better Optins Exist - Here are a few...
3.7
I am from Hawaii and have stayed in many different classes of properties in Waikiki. The Hawaiian Monarch is at the bottom of the economy class of hotels in Waikiki. The beds are just boxsprings with no mattress and that's not the worst part. The antiquated keycard system mean that you'll be constantly going to the front desk for new keys as they become demagnetized. The poor staff are all too aware of this and suffer from it too.

Excellent value for money
Closenes to beach, shopping gallore....
9.7
Loved location, very close to the beach and local shopping. And my impression is, that hotel is good value for money. The hotel is on a good location and many travellers are coming and going constantly,so I think being so reasonably priced people are comming back.
Would recommend to friends and family

Hôtel déplorable avec un mauvais service
4

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
ホノルルマラソンに出るには便利な場所です
