Was noisy as the hotel next door had a singer start around 7 a.m. in the morning which was quite loud in our room. Brakfast was also disappointing as was only muffins, juice and coffee/tea - not what we would normally expect for a "breakfast"(did not even meet a continental style breakfast!) But position was great with lots of good restuarants and close to beach. Front desk staff at Hotel Renew were absolutely fantastic!

it would have been nice to have food and beverages in the minibar. the elevator is also a bit slow and the air conditioner is noisy.
dining options are available nearby, but there is no restaurant in the hotel. no pool facilities.
Shopping Tip:
Outlet shopping at Waikele is excellent, especially for Australian travelers used to high prices back home! Ala Moana also provides cheap prices on designer goods.

was close to the Zoo, which is convenient if you're looking for a free parking spot instead of using hotel valet parking that is a bit pricier than free parking of course :)
the hotel staffs were very friendly, you can rent beach necessities for free from hotel such as towels, beach mats and etc. exterior is very old, yet interior space had been "renewed" they response quick to complaint,complimentary breakfast, but if you need a swimming pool, it does not have one. over all was very good!

We stayed at Hotel Renew for 5 nights in October. The hotel staff are always friendly and really helpful, they gave us some great reommendations for places to eat dinner. Our room was modern looking with a great view of the Ocean - I would def recommend paying extra for a Oceanview room. The room was smallish but all we needed. We were in room 906, I would also recommend asking for a room on a higher floor, we also had a balcony - the end rooms of the floor have balconys. Free Wi-Fi too! The hotel provide beach towels, chairs and mats which was great. Breakfast is included in the price which is supposed to be 'Continental' however it's just coffee, orange juice and muffins. I was expecting cereal/toast and fruit as well, this was our biggest downfall with our stay as we needed to find and spend money eating breakfast elsewhere. They have happy hour between 5.30 and 7.30pm which was good - $6 cocktail! Lastly the location of the hotel is a 5/10 minute walk from the heart of the main strip - I guess this was a good thing as we got some exercise. In summary I enjoyed our stay (minus breakfast) and think the hotel does offer value for money and would recommend others to stay here.
Restaurant Tip:
Roy's and Il Trattoria are absolutley delicious - definatly eat dinner here!

The continental breakfast became mundane after a while; the same every morning. There was no breakfast tea only Green tea and Earl Grey or coffee.

In an overdeveloped expanse of accommodation in Waikiki Hotel Renew stands out as it is fairly small and "boutique". I stayed at Hotel Renew twice during my stay in Hawaii. The first room was a Beach View room which was lovely and quiet. The second was a city view room (room 601) which was noisy; I was woken up various times during the night by garbage trucks etc so don't chose this room if you are a light sleeper. Having said that I did not have the air conditioning on which probably would have drowned out the noise anyway as it's so loud!
The reception area did not "wow" me but the rooms where modern with a good ambience and everything you need. I liked that they provided free loan of beach gear and that there were some great books to read in the room.
It does not have a restaurant or room service but there are so many restaurants around that you don't really need it anyway and they provide 24 hour coffee and pastries in the morning.
My stay was easy and comfortable and I'd recommend it as a place to navigate to and from Honolulu airport.

Doraku Sushi was excellent for Sushi
