Location of the hotel was very good and check in was fast. Arrived at 11am at the hotel, knowing that their check-in time is a 3pm. However, there was no issue and they checked me in at htis time.
Really, no cons for what I paid!
Even though the location of the hotel on freemont st. The older part of las vegas is good, you will have to take the bus to go to the new part of the city ( belagio, caesars, venetian ) the bus is very slow but confortable. If you want to go shopping, the premiun outlets is 15 minutes walking from the hotel, however, it is an open mall and the heating can be unberable.instead, take the bus to las vegas outlet mall, which is a better mall, more stores and air conditioned, it will be at least a 1 hour bus ride ( be prepared).
Hotel Feature Tip : Freemont st. is a must see in Vegas...all the light shows and it is at the hotel's doorstep.

Fantastic rooms and amenities
It is in old vegas, so it is about a $20 taxi ride to the strip
The hotel itself is awesome. great rooms, great staff, great amenities.
The restaurant is pretty good value for money.
The only problem is that it is located in old vegas. it is a bit of a hike to the strip.
It is great value for money though, if you have a car.

Affordable, everything you need under one roof!
long queues at check-in, crowded pool area
The Golden Nugget is good value for money. For one night in the old town area of Vegas you can't go wrong. There are good eating options from buffet to Starbucks to Cantonese. It's nice to be able to walk out the door onto traffic free Fremont street.
We arrived at approx 4pm and the check-in queue was long, we waited at least 30mins.
Lilies the Cantonese restaurant we ate in was very good. The breakfast buffet is cheap but don't expect good food. There is a lot of food but the quality isn't great - I guess you get what you pay for.
Hotel Feature Tip : If you use valet parking ring ahead to tell them when you want your car ready. We waited with at least 30 others in 40 degree heat for 45minutes for our car to turn up.

The pool is awesome. Great lounge chairs, bars and black jack tables around the pool area. There is a water slide that goes through the shark tank aquarium in the middle of the pool! Their club "Gold Diggers" rocks!
No shuttle to and from airport.
This hotel is my favorite hotel to stay in Las Vegas. Although it is located in Downtown, about 15 minutes from the Strip, there is lots to do and see! They have everything the Strip has but for half the price. The buffet there is fantastic, great selection of food and it tastes great! The pool is relaxing and fun. And their club, "The Gold Digger", is free to get in and plays great music!
The rooms are very spacious and clean. The beds are doubles, not queens, so they are small if you are sharing a room. But the bathrooms are nice and there is lots of floor space. All of their rooms are also connecting rooms - so if you want, you can share space with people you know. This is by far, my favorite place to go!

The pool is the best of all the hotel's downtown, and rivals those on the strip.
When we arrived, check-in was at a minimal wait. The Customer Service Representative was pleasant and helpful. As usual, the rooms are spacious, clean and very modern. The Sushi Resturant was unique, as you could enjoy a meal while watching the casino. I love the layout, simple, well organized and fun... Did I say fun, I just enjoy staying there so much. And the Pool... OMG it is the best. Tables, drinks, slide and don't forget the Aquarium. Great job!!! Thanks again.
Nightlife Tip : Other than the Casino itself. The fact that you can walk out into the center of the party life. Music, dancing and just plain fun. Light show and so on. No need to get in the car and drive anywhere.. it is all at your fingertips.

Beautiful pool, friendly, helpful staff, (for the most part), Noodle House Restaurant was awesome.
Constantly being approached by time-share salespeople, Gordie Brown video bombardment, having to pay extra for everything from internet to USA Today, to the fitness center.
The Golden Nugget was a unique experience for our group. Previously we had all stayed in Strip hotels, and as I expected, Fremont Street and the Golden Nugget were laid back and perfect for us. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff, bellman, and housekeepers were all very friendly and helpful. The Noodle House restaurant had some of the best Asian food my family has had, including the sushi.
I was a bit put off by the charges for things that at other hotels in other cities were complimentary. Such as USA Today, use of the hotel fitness center, and internet service. In this economy, it seems a daily newspaper could have been included. Perhaps with the cost of my $8 Bloody Mary!
I would also suggest that the hotel is actually sending their guests screaming in terror at the thought of sitting through the Gordie Brown Show. After 5 days at the Golden Nugget, riding the elevators with the continuous video loop of Gordie highlights, his show was the last thing our family wanted to see.
Mostly though, we would highly recommend the Golden Nugget to our friends!
Nightlife Tip : Be sure to take a moment to listen to Carl "Safe Sax" Ferris on Fremont Street outside the Nugget. His skill on the saxophone is incredible! I found myself drawn in every night!

In downtown area, becomes to be lively and with a lot of options to enyoy. Bus stops near to it.
Take a bus to strip street, the main street in Las Vegas
Comfortable in general. We only were one night in the hotel, so we can not give to much tips about the Nugget, but in general the room was clean and comfortable, and the main atracction that the hotel has is a shark tank in the pool.
There was to few employees in the counter to chek in for the long line waiting for the check in.
The hotel offer you a lot of interesting discounts in it restaurant and in the shows, and free nights for the following visit.

The hotel is great. It is right on the Fremont Experience. The new waterslide through the shark tank is awesome.
Still some construction going on.
We were at the Golden Nugget for a reunion and thouroughly enjoyed it. The hotel room we were given was very nice and at a reasonable price. When we walked through the pool area we were amazed with private cabanas, waterfalls and even a waterslide through a giant aquarium filled with ocean fish. The casino is very beautiful and not overly smoky. When you walk out the front doors of the casino you are right on Fremont Street. What an experience that was, sounds and lights everywhere and even a Knight Rider Car show. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay downtown Las Vegas.

- Competitive price - Free parking for hotel guests - nice pool area
- Confusing the reception area - at the reception were 4 employees and only one of them's Check-In) responsibility (longer waiting period.
Anyone who was not yet in Vegas, must adjust to just the fact that we come to the "hotel interior", one must go through the important gambling.: Located in the Old Town area. Until the Town (MGM, Hard Rock Cafe, are Excalibur, etc.) is about 2-3 KM.
