Great value

Convenient location
8.3
i can say only good things about this hotel: pleasant staff, nice and clean room and got it at a very attractive price. parking could be challenge though. would stay here again.
Restaurant Tip: The Starbucks in this hotel often has long lineups and it is very expensive.

Nice hotel

Nice swimming pool

the tropicana hotel located at the begining of the strip, oposite of mgm, you can walk along the strip from starting, we like it. they have a big room with nice decoration. facility is worn out. if staying at the special rate, that will be reasonable in las vegas area.luckly, we had the special room rate in our staying.

New renovated- Beach Cafe needs work

Lobby Decor, pool atmosphere
7.3
we stayed at the tropicana from march 28th-april 2nd, for a parents-only vacation. it is obvious that the hotel has recently undergone a significant upgrade, and knowing that was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. the check-in and our rooms were both in great shape. the pool area is also a great place to waste a day. they have pool-side drink service and the ladies were all friendly and efficient. the only downside to our stay was the meal at the beach cafe. our first day, since we had to wait a couple of hours for our check-in time, we decided to grab some lunch at the beach cafe. it is worth mentioning here, that the decor is outstanding, for a cafe. it is quite apparent that a lot of time and money was used to create the space. my wife is in interior designer and i am an importer of lighting, and both were impressed by the design effort. however, why would they put so much effort into the decor and then serve the food that they did? i ordered the steak wrap and it was bland and also obvious that the mushrooms and onions had been cooked long before they were put in the wrap. my wife ordered the greek salad and asked for the dressing on the side (knowing that salads in vegas, salads tend to come soaked in dressing). the salad came soaked in the dressing. it also featured green olives with pimentos. did they get those from the martini bar? it's the first time i have seen those in a proper ($16) greek salad. the salad also came with some focaccia bread that was rock hard. my wife requested a new one and the waitress was pleasant and got another one. it too, was stale and the waitress said that standards for bread can differ. true enough. one man's bread can be used as a brick in another man's retaining wall. bottom line? the cafe lunch kept us from eating in the tropicana for the rest of our vacation. i doubt their savings on the olives and bread outweighed that.

Value for money hotel on the strip

Plenty of space, good location

great value for money hotel on the strip
Hotel Feature Tip: Don't use telephone in the room. The hotel charged me 17 USD for a less-than-a-minute call to a friend mobile (US number).

Great location and good service

Clean rooms, location
9.3
When you enter this hotel, there's a coconut scent to it, reminiscing the tropics as the hotel name suggests. We had a little trouble checking in but was solved quickly. Rooms are clean and spacious which was a delight. Do try and book the rooms near the entrance as the other tower is quite a walk away. worth it. Staff were efficient in serving drinks at the casino as probably the casino was relatively small. however the location is superb as it was on the trip. a pleasant and memorable stay

Very practical hotel, everything you need.

Clean, good size of the room, nice location, good parking, easy to find.

This is a great place if you're looking for a night to stay in Vegas. It has everything you need, including a casino, good sized rooms, etc. The only downsides I can think of are: long waiting line for checkin, breakfast not included and 15 dollar extra charge upon arrival (was not mentioned anywhere when booking through Pagoda either).

beside the location is really great (the strip location), the price is also worth for our money. the hotel is modern minimalist, clean and comfortable spacious room. free wifi is provided and also safety box. the check in staff is superb, she even tried to put me in a best view room. i will stay here again in the future.

On the strip but not too big

Quieter than larger casinos
8.7
the location was very good. the tropicana's location on the strip but not in the middle made it possible to be able to leave the noise behind at the end of the day. we dined at one of the restaurants and the food was excellent and very good value. if you like to dine early they had a 3 course special and it was also very good. the staff were very helpful and polite. like many other american hotels there is no refrigerator!

Nice Everything

Very good for the money

The room was real nice and large. The beds were very comfortable as well. I enjoyed the buffet in the hotel. Everything was really nice and it was located in the center of the strip. The staff was real nice. I would surely stay here again.
Restaurant Tip: People say to go other places for resturants, I say, go with what's in the hotel. It's real good.
