Wonderful architecture and history. Good downtown LA location.

No free wi-fi. Parking is $40 a night (I slept for less than triple that amount).

The hotel has wonderful history, and architecture. The Academy Awards were presented here for several years in the heyday of Hollywood. The lobby and other public areas are spectacular, and there's more Art Deco as you go outside and walk around this downtown LA area. My room also had interesting architectural features, though it did not have the furniture to match. Under the big built-in area for a couch there was only a small table with the ice bucket and coffee maker. Hard to believe in this day and age that they're still charging extra for wi-fi. I just heard a business lecture about never staying where you have to pay for such service.

Love the historical aspect of this hotel encompassing the war time effort to the political events and Oscar presentations. The artwork strewn all over the wall, ceiling and the floor makes it most joyous occasion every time when one walks through the building.

Situated in the Downtown area is not ideal for a 4 star hotel but it is only a minor abrasion.

What a grand monumental of a hotel. It is loaded with class and beauty. Look around the hotel one can't help but in awe of how much artistic inspirations were instilled in this master piece of a building. From floor to ceiling and every inch on the wall are etched with artistic brilliance. As one walks through the rooms it is well advised not to blink as one may miss out on the art pieces on offer.

Travel tip : Taxis and buses at the door.

Historical hotel. Location is good.

Room is so..so..

The lobby is lovely. But room isn't as good as lobby, already too old, facility in bathroom is fast too old, bathtub is small and water splash to the floor, Also window is too thin, outside traffic sound is terrible, all came through to the room, so nousy...I guess if they could had spend some money to renovation all the room, it will be a lovely hotel to recommand, as most of the guest spend most of their time in the room but not in the lobby.

Hotel Feature Tip : Please renovate all the room, otherwise customer will select other hotel before yours.

i like the lobby. the hotel is close to a subway station. the room was clean. clean enough for a non smoking room on a smoking floor,.....

by all means the hotel really needs to renovate the rooms. yeah sure i knew that i would stay in an old place but come on, you can not ask people to pay this amount of money with those kind of rooms&bathrooms.tooo old.the furniture, the couch,...everything in the room has never been changed since the opening i guess,...the hotel is really to expensive for a 3 star hotel in LA.AND they ask 40 USD for valet parking.this is simply not acceptable.on pershing square, olive street, a cross the street of the hotel overnight parking is 15.40 USD.

i was very unhappy with our room because when we arrived we got a very very tiny room, but for the price of the room i could not accept this room. So we went twice asking for another room, the new room that we got was the same kind of freaking old, even the furniture did not fit together, the room was just bigger, that´s all.i would never stay there again. I was very satisfied the other time with another motel and depends what you're paying for, very happy with a stay in Commerce, in a hotel along the I-5 to discover LA. At least to go home to your hotel you don´t have to be stuck in traffic to go downtown and there are no parking fees taken at your hotel.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : i think the hotel would be good for somebody without a car, because the subway station is very close and you can visit the rest of LA´s sight. Downtown the cathedral, walt diney´s concert hall, moca, are very close. go by foot!

The lobby The beautiful architecture The history of the hotel The price

Rooms slightly old Could use more in-room facilities (e.g. a fridge) Cost of parking

A great slice of LA history and fantastic location. Top tip if you have a car - parking in the Park car park is about half the price of the hotel parking and just as convenient. The location is a little "edgy" at night but is fantastic to get to most places in LA (Down Town is the centre and just convenient for practical the whole town). Bar is a bit pricey and a bit snobby.

Hotel Feature Tip : The history and the lobby are truly fantastic. Get your camera out!

The hotel is about 3 mins away from the BART station. Room is very clean. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Like the complimentary coffee and tea offered between 7 - 10am.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful.

The bathrooms appear to be slightly outdated - mainly the showers.

The Millennium Biltmore is a beautiful old Hollywood hotel. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and all of the staff members were extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were adequately sized and the bed was very comfortable. I would recommend packing your bathing suit to take advantage of the indoor swimming pool as well as the steam room and sauna. The price I found on Agoda could not be beat - as it is hard to find a hotel for that price in any city.

Travel tip : The Museum of Contemporary Art is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel.

This was our first stay in Downtown LA. We arrived at 5:30 am from Hawaii and appreciated being allowed to check in our luggage while touring the city. The front desk agent also made it possible for us to check in at 10:30 am instead of the the standard 3:00pm. Having being on a long flight we were grateful to freshen up early. On our second day the concierge was very helpful with planning our Hollywood tour. My experience here was a great one!! In Hawaii we would call this aloha spirit. I am recommending this hotel to all of my friends and family.

Nightlife Tip : The Tranquility Bar is a 10 min walk down to 8th Street and worth it. Happy hour is from 4pm - 8pm. The staff and owner were very friendly. They have an outdoor seating area that gives this bar it's name "tranquil". There are multiple big flat screen TVs for the sports fan.

Very grand Spacious and tasteful rooms Very good gym

VERY noisy. Expensive parking.

This was a beautiful hotel, full of charm. The downtown location was fine as LA is so sprawling that you have to drive everywhere anyway. The hotel offers valet parking only at $40 per night but overnight parking is available at Pershing Sq across the street for $15. The street noise is very loud even on high floors so bring ear plugs. Overall recommended.

Hotel Feature Tip : Secure parking right across the street at Pershing Sq is much cheaper than hotel valet.

Amazing history, beautiful lobby and hallways, big suites, fantastic beds!

Location, some parts (ie windows) are showing their age

This is a beautiful old hotel, which we got for an amazing price on Agoda! Our room was awesome (some kind of mini-suite upgrade), but my Mum stayed in the standard room next door, which was perfectly acceptable, but much smaller. The beds were SO comfortable! My favourite part of the hotel! I love the historic aspects of the hotel, being the site of the original Oscars. Amazing photos around the place. Also, Ghostbusters was filmed there, what more could you ask for?! Some things are showing their age, notably the window frames in the rooms. Shabby timber just painted over. We found the location pretty disappointing. Would not venture out at night time in a hurry! During the day, not a lot to do. Having said that, the Pershing Square Metro station is right across the road, easy access to all sightseeing places. Overall, we had a great experience at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone, but with a footnote about the location!

Beautiful lobby, beautiful room, great staff.

A makeup bag of mine mysteriously disappeared. The bathrooms were cramped and didn't have enough counter space.

Overall, I had a great experience - room was great and the staff/service was first-rate. Lobby was beautiful as was the bar. But a makeup bag disappeared and I wished the bathroom was bigger and had more counter space and was less cramped. I also wished there was free internet access.

Great Downtown location. Lots of history. Pool and Gym facilities were great. Walking distance to the Staples Center.

Parking Cost. Could park a next door for half the cost but no in/out.

I only spend one night at the Biltmore but in hindsite I sould have stayed longer. The location was good. The downtown core shuts down early but there if you want to go to a hockey game or go out to dinner there are options. Booked my agoda and saved alot of money.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't miss the Getty and Griffin.

- central location with all transportation links, - magnificent public parts, large room, - very large sauna, hammam and swimming pool, - Agoda rate for this hotel was lower than any other comparable hotel downtown.

- the windows are so old they won't open, but still let all wind and street sound in ! - onsite restaurants are not appealing (more banquet rooms than romantic setting for 2)

We decided to visit L.A. using only subway and bus, so a downtown location was an absolute priority. And this hotel has a perfect location (subway line and lots of buses right outside the hotel). We really enjoyed their spa area, even if it's a bit outdated, like everything in this hotel. But at the end, the "everything's old" feeling turned into a pleasant atmosphere, making us feel back in the glorious 30's. Restaurants on site are not interesting, but you'll find all you need just walking distance. And despite many reviews we read about Downtown LA, we found the area very safe.

Nightlife Tip : Escape the 1930's atmosphere of the Biltmore for one evening and walk just one block to the Standard Downtown for a hip dinner and drink !

old world style and tradition

uneven staff -- some great but a few who were not too helpful

This is my favorite downtown LA hotel and it is all due to the tradition and history of this grand old building. I find that one can usually get a pretty good rate here and though old, the rooms are in good shape and the amenities modern. The Gallery Bar is a great feature.

Hotel Feature Tip : I always ask for a room with plenty of sunshine. Some of the rooms look into an interior area of the hotel that are a bit dark.
