Arriving via van on lower level -- quite elegant. Love the outdoor resting area. Landscaping and decor very nice and inviting. Walking distance to a few nice restaurants. Only a 10 minute cab ride away from Port of Miami (Cruiselines). Inside nicely decorated for Xmas. Bar area very nice and relaxing. The waitresses were great! Our room was a nice size and very clean. Bathroom was great as well. Did not care for our view until night time. Beautiful at night. The concierge was impressive. A big plus!
No one on lowerlevel to guide us where to go to check in. Elevators a little slow, but nothing to be upset about. Due to rain, pool was closed. Not a lot to do within walking distance. However, we loved the hotel.
The Hilton Miami Downtown was very enjoyable. My husband and I stayed one night prior to taking a cruise. Very elegant and nicely landscaped / decorated on lower level. Our room was a good size and so was the bathroom. Very clean. The view during the day was disappointing, however, at night absolutely beautiful. The hotel is conveniently located only a 10-minute cab ride away from the Port of Miami. The hotel was nicely decorated for the holidays. The bar area was nice and relaxing. The waitresses took great care of us. The concierge was impressive! Registration person was great as well. Overall, we had a great experience and would certainly stay here again.
Hotel Feature Tip : Took advantage of the ambiance and comfortable seating in the bar area. Very relaxing, watched tv, and just chilled with a drink enjoying my husband's company.

people very friendly, hotel clean, nice pool
automatic 18% tip....what a racket!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great regarding resturants, things to do and distance to the port of miami. The shuttle service to the port was okay, they jammed us into van but the driver was pleasent. We ate at the bar and were able to order anything from the resturant menu.

Great position for the Triple A (American Airlines Arena). Professional and friendly service. Rooms large, clean and well presented. Lovely views. Free and accessible room for internet.
The shower water on the first day was not quite warm enough, second day fine. Expensive breakfast.
A great place to stay for the Triple A (American Airlines Arena)....about a 15 minute (easy)walk. Very friendly staff and a well presented hotel....pretty lobby and lovely roof terrace pool. Rooms are a good size and it is worth asking for a room with a view, spectacular at night. Nice poolside area, towels provided.

10 minute drive to South Beach, no crowds, rooms have recently been renovated, great service, plenty of parking options
This is a great hotel if you like to be close to South Beach without paying the price or dealing with the crowds. The rooms have recently been renovated and everything is well-maintained and clean. Overall, great experience.

location, big, clean rooms, good breakfast buffet, good concierge
front desk staff not so attentive
we enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were big and clean with all conveniences. Coffeemaker could be a little better. But the views are great. Easy to reach from the airport. We took a cruise from the Miami port and it was easy to get there from this hotel. The staff is generally helpful although the front desk service could improve. The buffet is great. the coffeeshop is also good. Checking e-mail is also easy. We liked the concierge service the most. He directed us to metro and bus service that were both convenient and money saving.

very nice hotel. Very professional helpful staff at front desk. business center services included (internet, printers, faxes, photocopiers). there is a Burger King just across the street.
there is not much near it. It does not have in-room safes.
Travel tip : There is a burger King just across the street. there is a Metro rail stop at teo blocks which is a free public transportation to go to downtown.

Ideal location for south beach. Great city views. Lively bar, Friendly staff and they provided a shuttle to and from Dolphins Stadium (Baseball World Classisc)
Elevator broke down. Have to get on two seperate elevators to reach your room. TVs suck
My buddy and I from Boston stayed here St Pattys day. We caught a cab to south beach for $10, the shuttle to Dolphins Stadium saved us batteling traffic and getting lost. It was very nice to have that option. The rooms and beds were great and the view from our room although not of downtown as we were facing the other direction was awesome. The parking is on the ground floor the you have to get in an elevator to check in then another elevator to your room kind of a draw back. Overall it was great
Nightlife Tip : Cant beat south beach and any club/bar on it...but you knew that.

Great location for cruises - 5 min from the port, 10 min from South Beach.
Spacious rooms
This hotel was great! We took a cruise to the caribbean and it was perfect because it was close to the port. It is right by Calle Ocho and a 10 min drive to South Beach. However, not walking distance to anything so not good unless you have a rental car or someone to pick you up.

new and located downtown and close to port.
and i do mean "bugs". i woke up in the morning with bug bites all over my legs; i do not know if this was because of the continuing construction or what. reported it to the front desk and really got no response. staff was helpful with other things though.

Not the confirmed hotel, not helpful.
When we arrived we just got the note saying that the hotel was overbooked and they send us to a partner hotel around the corner. Nobody asked if this was ok or any apologies. We booked it because it was renovated and had a great view over downtown. Nobody asked if they could help with the luggage or how we should get there. The other hotel was ok and had a nice view but old and not that standard.

Location is ideal for people going on a cruise, it is close to the port.
It was noisy due to renovations, but this is temporary
Miami downtown Hilton is ideally located in an area which is quiet, but at the same time close to all the activities that a normal tourist would like to do. The port is within a few minutes of a taxi ride from the hotel, which was ideal for us since we took two cruises from the Miami port and the stays at the hotel before and in between the two cruises was perfect.
The sightseeing tours organized by the concierge were excellent, the concierge service was excellent. He waited at the meeting point for the tour bus to arrive and made sure that all the guests booked for the tour were properly seated. This was more than we expected, 100 % marks to him.
The room was good, the coffee maker was fine. But I think the hotel should cater for tea drinkers as well. An electric kettle to boil hot water would be a good addition to the room.
In short, our stay was good and that is the reason we booked the hotel again within a week for a second stay.
Hotel Feature Tip : sightseeing trips organized by the hotel concierge was a very convenient way to see Miami in a short period.

The view, the location, the helpful staff
This hotel had an excellent location for our purpose. It was close to area entertainment and was an excellent location to the cruise ship terminal. The hotel staff was very excellent and extremely helpful. They made sure that we had everything we needed! We asked for a room with a view when we checked in and the front desk gave us an excellent view of the city. The only problem we had was that the hotel was under construction at the time and there was some construction noise. Besides that though our stay was great and we'd definitely stay again!

the bed and pillow are so nice
the airconditioner works a little bit noisy
The hotel is close to the beach. Restaurants can be find all round but it is recommended to rent a car. There is no large mall nearby.
Service is good. Room is big enough for double stay(standard twin room). The bed is so nice. It is soft but enough waist supporting.
The airconditioner system works a bit noisy when starts.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : free sky rail way next to the hotel directly going to the bayside.
10mins walking to the AA arena(Miami Heat's home)

Close proximity to the Miami Port, good ocean view from room window
This Hilton had nice recently renovated rooms and good views of the city and/or the ocean. The staff was friendly and helpful, and gave us directions to the free downdown trolly, so we were able to enjoy a night out in Miami. The downside was the ground-level construction at the Hilton, and construction nearby, but it wasn't a problem until later morning hours. We were glad to find a cab ride to the Port of Miami was only between ten and twelve dollars.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Free metro-downtown trolly stop about 1 block away.

The rooms were clean, comfortable and modern
Not attractive curb appeal at all. Renovations were occuring but I believe the hotel should have been shut down for them. Across the street from a very undesireable part of town..did not feel very safe walking around the area to the west.
I realize there is a complete renovation occuring to the block that the hotel is located and I am sure it will be very nice when it is done but people should be warned what condition the hotel is in before they book it. the hotel is not in a very desirable area, It was nice to the east of the hotel, towards the water but to the north and west it was a scary area. I thought the hotel would be closer to the more desirable area to the south, closer to the main down town.
Restaurant Tip : No where outside the hotel to eat near by.
